I don't think it's painted for the next MY.. For the promotional material, they airbrush the muffler so it doesn't look as hideous.. It was like that for first set of brochures..

That's the reason I was looking on the website. I'd seen an instagram post saying the M240 was getting darker rear lights, was seeing if the M2 got them too. Then I saw the back box....

That is just photoshop. The German configurator had the black muffler from the beginning. In fact, I just checked and BMW USA shows black muffler for 2019 M2C configurator as well. BMW knows they fucked up with this muffler and this is their way of trying to hide it. If you look at some press releases, they heavily edited/photoshopped the muffler in some of the pics as well. However, it'd be nice if they really made 2020MY with black muffler.

This is why I like to see for myself, any claims..
But at the same time delicately balance not being overly pushy about the claimant's sources..

I've confirmed that the taillights will be tinted black for 2020.. Personally, I find that unnecessary but I guess they have to throw in some new styling for the new MY.
