Way better than stock. Curious to see how the gloss paint works once the exhaust is mounted back on.

I collected it! Hockenheim Silver, DCT, 763M wheels, big brakes, sunroof, elec seats, in fact most of the available options. It also has a tracker for peace of mind. The wheels and brakes are an extravagance as it will never be tracked but I think they are worth it for looks alone. There was an M4 parked near my M2 with standard blue brakes and the M4 set-up just looked under-nourished to me. Sorry about the low quality picture, it was a quick smartphone snap.

I traded in an M235i; this is my first ever proper M-car. After 80 miles, first impressions are that the M2 is much planted on the road, and feels more stable in the corners. The ride is firmer and the car is noisier but the difference is entirely bearable. The DCT is great above 20mph but it less user friendly reversing into a tight garage. Apple CarPlay so far seems like a waste of £235 but I will try and keep an open mind. The seats feel more comfortable and I love having a sunroof; my M235i felt very claustrophobic inside.

My 641M winter wheels went on today. I feel like I should have checked the torque on the bolts in the stock wheels right after delivery...they were too easy to remove, all 20 of them.

Thank you! That's an excellent point and reminder. I've always changed my own summer/winter wheels. I had mine done at delivery and did not check them myself. Now on my to do list for morning

Milked it ...

Got back under the "muffler" and massaged it until the milk flowed.

So... I’m pretty sure in this case “it” is not the muffler. Eww.
But if the muffler turns you on. Go for it.

Not what I did, but nature today coated my car in red dust. Probably some type of retribution for us not having the OPF in Australia. The OPF would prevent dust storms.

I originally ordered the Autotecknic Competition Shift Paddles in "stealth black." (See attached.) Had them installed at EAS (along with the reflector inserts, etc.) and as soon as installation was done, I immediately drove off.

What I hadn't realized is that "stealth black" means... plastic! They just felt really cheap. Beyond that, the paddles felt... spongy, for lack of a better word. When you change gears, you should feel a nice "click" when you squeeze down on the paddles. Instead, it just felt like squeezing a... sponge. My hypothesis is that the plastic was just too pliant and didn't really "click" you into gear.

Drove back to EAS, and I really gotta thank tom @ eas and his team so much. They tried it out, agreed that it was an issue, and wanted to replace with the nicer carbon fiber paddles (which would be stiffer and hence provide good "click"), but didn't have any in stock at that moment.

The only ones they did have in stock were the Pedal Haus - Extended Billet DCT Shifter Paddles. In silver.

When I was comparing extended paddles, I did, in fact, LOVE the Pedal Haus paddles, but a) was afraid what my wife would say, and b) figured that if any of you ever caught wind of it, I'd get roasted to no end, so instead went for the more muted and subtle style of the Autotecknics. But, due to fortunate circumstance, I was FORCED to take the paddles that my inner 10 year-old wanted in the first place!

When I got home, my wife laughed and said, "Those things look like Batman's batarangs!"

So, there you have it. I'm Bruce Wayne. A short, Asian, with glasses, Bruce Wayne. But, Bruce Wayne, nonetheless.

I am Batman.
Holy Fuc Batman!

If you didn't know DCT has a creep mode if you tap the gas and take your foot off. It goes as slow as it can without messing up the clutch.

I was just going to get under the car, tape off the surrounding areas and spray it without raising the car. I will probably do it tonight. Ill keep you posted.

Thanks for the tip, I am getting better at manoeuvring the car but I suspect that a DCT will never be as good as a traditional automatic for very slow speed stuff. Here is a pic of the 763 wheels with big brakes for anyone who is interested. Even the BMW salesman was surprised how big the cosmetic difference was.

...and 6MT gives you the ULTIMATE fine control and precision!

It was yesterday.... when I entirely removed the the first of the two fuel reserve warnings.

Way too early at 1/4 tank.... :

Terrible pic but was on my second tank of fuel in less than 24hrs of collecting the car (which had a full tank when I collected it)...

Had to do a 200ish mile round trip for a client meeting and I was driving conservatively, keeping the revs under 5k.

Stupid question, Is there a launch mode for manuals? I would assume you would just rev it up then let the clutch out? On a manual would it just hold rpms then you dump the clutch?

Yep.. I also thought there was no "unleashing full power" at service, but they all argued with me.
