Hey Marc,
Curious about a few things. How do you compare the ride of both cars back to back? I have found a pretty significant difference in ride between the two cars and have mentioned it in several posts. I've felt the ride is more controlled and seems smoother, which I've thought might be changed spring rates. Of course the steering is night and day.

Heard any updates on M parts? Wondering if the M exhaust will ever come out and when the US will ever get the front splitter.

Thanks for any updates.

I see your points and do agree with them, but yeah back to back minutes after each other will give me a lot of options to compare. I will take them to a local road in the hills that is nice and twisty, and drive them through town in Turin.

I have a call with BMW M tomorrow, let me ask and see what they say.

ETA 1-2 weeks because they also have to order it in the U.S. or connect it to other orders from the U.S. JHparts is like that. Offering a lot of stuff, but not having it on stock just knowing where they can get it. Similarly to you.

Just order it in the States yourself and you have it way sooner, without having to pay JHparts a margin for their work. Guys at @IND are top. Only think about if you want to order more than just the buttons. In connection to the shipping fee it might be smart to order more parts.

@IND, can you guys please start a European shop please :P

Front splitter update:

My information from BMW is that all deliveries are stopped because of unspecified quality problem. Donīt know, when it will be resolved. Seems to be very low chance to have it till the end of this year.

Looks like they have a quality problem with the CF hoods as well... mine is not perfect and a specialist from M Performance is coming to my dealer to take a look at mine

Not surprised, the M Performance door sills that was listed on the PDF as available MP parts for the M2C.

Now the dealer is telling me new orders of this part is blocked due to quality issue..

I guess I wasn't being cynical when saw "Made in China" next to part number (and some MP carbon pieces are) and smirked..

Not that their is anything wrong with that but from my younger days working in Auto Zone, management trained us that parts from China are cheaper but sometimes lack in quality..

Letīs say, that M2C specific parts are somehow well-under BMW quality, so taken from OG M2 or M3/M4 are ok to be delivered, the rest is quite problematic.

I wrote already to my dealership, it is serious faux-paus for the BMW brand.

I can confirm that I have just written my first update on the tuning and exhaust development. I am waiting for a few more details and photos, and then I can share it with you guys. Hang on we are almost there!

Also my M Performance steering wheel has gone to a local Czech upholstery company. They are going to remove the blue 12 o'clock marker and are going to make it red for about 115 EUR. If you want the same done, ask Krizze.

It then fits the start button and red M1/M2 buttons in the steering wheel. I will fit the wheel mid-December together with the longer shift paddles, alu covers on the paddles, the carbon shift cover and handbrake cover.

Upgraded audio system and ASD removal is planned to go in by the end of this month or early next month. AST suspension is unknown still, but it might be around the same time. The full black IND side scuttles and puddle lights I will do as well before the end of the month.

The carbon bonnet, roof and trunk will not happen until after the winter period. Still a lot of planning required for that. The vinyl wrap and BBS FI-R wheels will happen in March. For now I will keep it as it is and run Nokian winter tires on my stock rims.

Oh and I washed my Specialised Cover car cover today. It was needed after two years.

Don't know if you've had the V2 wheel for a while. I had one on my '17 manual and I really didn't like it. The ridge at the top of the wheel is uncomfortable when driving with one hand and shifting. I'm looking to go with the all Alcantara V1 wheel on the Comp instead.

If you haven't done the stereo upgrades, check out my mods. I did the full system in Focal with drop in drivers available in Germany. I did the subs too. No amp change. Fortunately, with the touchscreen, they upgraded the audio amp from the OG, so the system has more power, which plays well with the 4 ohm speakers. Very worthwhile upgrade; much better quality sound.

I have an ASD delete harness, but haven't installed it yet. Sound is much less intrusive in the comp.

Will be doing some major carbon fiber trim upgrades. Will post for the group when I get them done in the next few weeks.

I am OK with the steering wheel. It is cool and fine, better than the leather stock one. Not much to complain from my end. Just want to have the blue replaced by red. I don't drive with one hand on top of the steering wheel

I am going for a Gladen system again. It is a local set up available in Germany and the Netherlands. We will check stock set up in more depth and see if an amp upgrade is required. Subs and speakers will all be done, as they were in my OG M2. Amp is a 610W amp that will be fitted if needed, but we will install a DSP Sound Processor.

ASD annoys me if it is not so loud. I don't need fake exhaust noise, I am not driving a PS4 or a Xbox.

Also over the past few days Meanie and I have been checking how much weight we can shave off the car before going mental with removing seats, etc...

We think the following:

Exhaust (Cat-back) = Up to - 30 kg
Wheels (BBS FI R) = Up to - 20 kg
Battery (Liteblox) = Up to - 24 kg
Carbon bonnet = - 11 kg
Carbon roof = - 6 kg (Est.)
Carbon trunk = - 5 kg (Est.)
Suspension = - 6-8 kg (Est.)
Other carbon parts (e.g. diffuser, wing mirrors) = - 1 kg (Est.)

That is over 100 kg and all are replacement parts...

Wow - that's 3403 pounds, which seems really light. Don't you have DCT?

AutoBild weighed a DCT M2C with 788M wheels, silver brakes and full tank of gas and it was at 1627kg (link). That's over 80kg of difference. Let us know once you weigh it again

BMW official Euro specs shows the M2C with DCT at 3,638lbs (1650kg).

If you're weighing in at under a 100kgs lighter, consider that gift..

Just check and make sure a turbo is not missing or something.. :

The 1650kg figure is because of the EU standard. A figure of 75kg is added onto the DIN weight to account for a passenger and some luggage. This additional weight of 75kg is not from the vehicle itself.

That's a strange standard; I'm surprise they didn't add weight to account for your dog and your mistress also
