Interesting...

I find your excessively touchy response puzzling. I was merely suggesting you not get baited into his argument that the current M2 will look dated very soon.
Did I miss something?

It's easy to get things completely backwards.

Nothing personal it appears it is I that has it completely wrong.

So except my apologies. I don't mix words but I do sometimes read things wrong.

These GIFs put into perspective how much the grills have grown.

I need to see the car in person to decide, but I don't notice the grill much to be honest.

Mmmmh, that gif makes the older version look dated to me. And, I finally like the new grille!

Not liking the kidneys very much, quite a drastic change overall in design!

I do like the lower portion better on the M2C than the current M2. I was never that much of a fan of the aggressive fangs on the M2, and it was something that grew on me. The M2C actually looks less aggressive down low IMO, which is why I like it.

I'm still not sure about the new kidney grills, but it's not so bad when you put it all together with the rest of the car.

Yea but it's functional aero. It's made to be scraped without breaking to a point. They must have shown an aero benefit and added it. You'd be surprised what a little aero management can do for the overall performance for a car. And trust me theirs a lot to be had from managing aero under the car!

We're finding out great numbers in our aero tests right now managing under the vehicle aerodynamics as we develop our new product.

In the m3 e92 behind there was radiators.
They was squared like box in the m3, now I am not able to understand if they are make for aereodinamic or to gain space for cooling.
They declare big cooling system.

I would suspect it's for cooling as the F80/82 have these as well.

The new grill is significantly more aggressive, but still looks a bit large to me.

The revised bumper looks more refined and upscale - great design move.

Looking forward to seeing the revised car in person and hope it helps with the odd proportions of the current design.

It's all their for a purpose. Just because it's for aero purposes doesn't just mean slippery, it's air management so if it's their for redirecting airflow whether it be for cooling heat exchangers or brakes or anything else under the bonnet it's purposeful.

The visual changes are really minute if you ask me, although over time the old grill will probably look dated. That is usually what happens after people get used to the new look. That being said, it wouldn't bother me one bit having an OG M2, just because of the few design changes.
I do prefer the grill and the mirrors, but not the wheels, they just don't do it for me. Not concave enough and although I like the typical "CSL style mesh", these just don't have enough curves in them. Everything looks very angular. The old wheels are a better choice IMHO.

More importantly however, I am eager to hear some driving impressions and reviews. If the impressions come back extremely positive, I will probably follow through with getting one, but if they come back lack luster, like on the M4 GTS, then I will probably pass. I am first in line at my dealer, but at the moment I am really 50/50. Having some serious second thoughts about selling my e46 m3 for one of these.

Can't seem to get past the impression that the new front grill is looking more and more like a KIA. Maybe the black trim is throwing me off.
