I'd only get it on a black car.

And this is exactly what i realized on the ride to the dealer. My current E46‘s roof is black so the moonroof „integrates“ nicely. The M2C i ordered will be hockenheim silver, so the moonroof will be a black patch. Destroys the harmony somewhat. Add the weight, the extra cost, possible future issues with noises, water and what not all else.... so i ordered it without one.

That's what I'm talking about.

M2C (My 2 Cents - see what I did there...)

Didn't get the sunroof on my LCI. Not because of weight distribution (I'm a tub-o-lard)...or faster lap times (don't go to the track)...or future potential creaks (I could be dead tomorrow)...or resale values (car is leased)...or because it will mess up my hair (i'm bald)...there was only one reason. In the past 20 years of having cars with sunroofs...I have only open them a handful of times. Why pay $1,000 for something I'll never use. (the $1,000 went to Fab Speed instead).

OP you want a roof, get a roof. You don't, then don't. Just be sure/confident you know why you are doing either.

I have a black M2 with sunroof - it is just perfect, I love road trips all windows and roof opened, almost feels like on a bike

I will be going no sunroof. Saves money, saves weight, and gives me more headroom.

my M6 GC doesn't even come with a moonroof option, and is built with a CF roof, explain that.

Plus you guys got it all wrong. Hole in the roof = less weight.

I don‘t like the additiinal weight, cost and higher center of gravity. But i just can‘t imagine a closed roof after driving with some light on top for over 15 years...
the E30 M3 came with a sunroof standard.

No worries, I'm sure BBS will make something similar, lightweight, 18 inchs, to fit the M2C's calipers..

Seeing as there are no 18" wheels that fit the M4 CCBs, I don't think it's possible for any 18" to fit over the 2NH brakes.

I ordered my m235 with moonroof delete, so I didn't want standard equipment that I had already paid for. Many of the factors mentioned in this thread are certainly true (headroom, potential rattles & leaks) but I guess the biggest thing for me is how much better I like how the roof looks without the moonroof. My car is alpine white, and the solid white roof just looks so much slicker.

Now if we could get rid of that damn ugly antenna. No option for that. Perhaps if they’d offer radio delete. Then roofs would be nice & pretty.

Wish I could get one. Based on M240i with moonroof there isn't enough room for my head. I think M2C with stiffer suspension I would be bumping my head. I also will miss the thigh extensions. But the seat bottom looks longer on the M2C so maybe won't be too bad. Anyone have actual measurements?
