Your answer should have been, yes it's missing a C (while holding a straight face).

If I already had the base M2, not sure whether I would upgrade to M2C or not but I'd be very tempted.
I agree.

Let's face it, an M2 trade-in for an M2 Competition right now, would be more emotional-driven decision-making, than rational-driven decision-making. Most will take a financial hit on the existing car and risk to get sucked deep into the options and M Performance Parts wormhole for the new car. Allow yourself to give it some thought, sleep over it and consider the things that matter most for you (the balance of interests, trade-offs, equation, etc.). Yes, it's all pretty personal. And what about the emotions surfacing when a nicely kitted out M2 Competition passes by ? Well, that's one of the trade-offs for the more rational-driven decision to keep the current car.

Many moons ago, when I pitched the 'M2 to M2C' trade-in idea to my wife, she asked me straightaway: "Wait a sec, is there anything wrong with your car ?". Kinda says it all (also about my wife).
For me - these decisions come easy. My wife is a Porsche driving gear head. She has her sights set on a 992 Targa. 50% of her DNA is German. Go figure.

Particulate Filter.
If that makes it's way to the US, is that an easy delete with aftermarket exhaust, or is it more involved? Seems like a win-win for sound and weight if Akro or Dinan has a nice note....

Rejoice for US regulations!

Quote:
• Is the particulate filter the reason the muffler is so large and will USA cars also be equipped with it?

BL: Yes, the particulate filter is the reason the muffler is so large at the back. The U.S. market will get an exhaust WITHOUT the filter. The filter is ONLY for Europe. The M Performance exhaust will also get the OPF filter installed. The U.S. market will NOT get the filter on the titanium M Performance exhaust.

Not known. Certainly some of the weight is from the extra cooling and closed deck block of the S55. Also switching from a single to dual path exhaust and the Otto particulate filter(Europe). Larger calipers and rotors. We’ll probably have to wait until an actual owner puts their car on some corner balance scales.

How about removing the front seats and sitting in the back and driving? Weight reduction PLUS moving weight to rear.

Rear Seat Delete(professionally done w/ sound insulation)
5lb Antigravity battery

Approx 130-140 lbs weight reduction

Other possibles:
Track Seats w/ appropriate belts
Lighter exhaust
Roof and trunk (expensive!)

Seats would save about 50lbs

200 lbs pretty easy to shed...
Exhaust would be first and foremost(Plus who rolls on stock exhaust these days?). M2C exhaust is going from single path to dual path. Also the dual valve muffler looks much larger and heavier. For example stock M4 exhaust weighs 69lbs. Other exhaust systems can range from 26lbs savings for Mperf to 41lbs savings for BMS exhaust.

M2 single path(stock left)

M4 dual path(stock left)

Also note, some of the deeper tone of the N55 M2 comes from it having a single path exhaust. Active Autowerkes and BMS both make single path exhaust for the M4. They have a much deeper tone than stock.

Tight fitting leather clothes, puma race shoes, carbon fiber belt buckle; that should get you that extra 10 lbs and 20 hp.
Helium in the tires, plastic film instead of floor mats, no underwear under the clothing, keep the fuel tank 1/4 full at most, remove the tire inflator kit (does it even have one?), and John Lennon sunglasses instead of Richard Petty style.

And never have your car nearby when the filming of 'My 600 LB Life' is over for the day and the star's Uber ride doesn't show.

Perhaps our UK members can calculate how many pounds that saves... I'm thinking it is a few thousand at least!

Looking for ideas (on a budget) to decrease the forward weight on the M2Comp. CF hood is an obvious starter, but seems to only decrease by 10 lbs. Feel free to suggest other ways to negate the increases and try to stay near 50/50...
Avoid swiss cheese fondue... very bad for overall weight AND driving perf 🤪

What about raclette? Rösti?

We'll be in Switzerland for a week, starting Sept 22. Maybe I should just eat grass in the pastures with the beautiful dairy cattle.

First we need an actual car on some corner balance scales, to get a realistic weight and the weight distribution.

Not sure if anyone has seen these or if it matters but I received a copy of my car's certificate of origin and it lists the cars shipping weight as 3498 lbs or 1587 kilos. Just trying to help with information.

Is yours 6MT and no sunroof? That weight is probably not with a full tank of gas. Someone on the forum weighed his 6MT with slick top at ~3560lb (full tank).
