Can Tire Rack please answer a question

It seems like the stock tires on stock rims are stretched. Are we better getting 255/35/19 and 275/35/19 tires or the stock 245/35/19 and 265/35/19 tires?

I ran the 255/275 setup for winter so I could get lm32’s. I wouldn’t be scared to run that size on summers.

I about ready for new tires and was considering going a bit wider just for the hell of it.

I have 255F and 275R with same 35 profile wrapped on FF04 from HRE. The width of my wheels are same as OE 437M. 9 front and 10 rear.

To be honest, they still look stretched after fitting 10 mm wider tires front and back.

I will post some pics once i go back home tonight.

I recently fitted PS4S's in 255/35 and 275/35 on stock rims with stock suspension. No rub, no problems, lots of grip but then they replaced Contis so no real surprises.

I firstly thought that they all have the stretch look as it does with OE tire sizes but figured just now that they aren't

As i mentioned these wheels are 19' and wheel width is exactly same as 437M
9 inch front and 10 inch rear

Offsets are both front and rear different from stock wheel but offset does not contribute to tire stretches anyways so not worth mentioning the difference with OP's question.

I just spoke with them on Tuesday and they said the 255 front 275 rear are totally fine for the M2. I ordered a set of Cup 2 tires for my track wheels but stuck with the 245 front 265 rear setup but I'm already thinking I screwed up. Thought process was it is a designated M2 tire versus the other option being a mercedes tire. Probably stupid on my part but I can rethink things in a few months when they are worn out.

The M3 and M4 have our same stock wheels. Their tires are 255 front and 275 rear. I am not sure why ours are a little smaller.

Because the space in the wheel wells are smaller and BMW wanted to be conservative.
