The point is, when running higher boost, some slippage is going to occur no matter how much rubber we have. It is a front engine car after all.
Got it. I get the same with 285/35 4S just on Stage 1.

I do a lot of road trips in my cars when it’s not on track and I really don’t want the added noise and discomfort of a 71R. I’ve tried that before—love the grip of the 71R, hate the noise on road trips.

Thinking I’ll try the 295/30 4S on my OEM rims to see if giving up some grip is worth the comfort. And keep the the 71R and R7’s on track.

Sean, I respect your expertise. I'm simply stating what occurred. There was, in fact, a momentary loss in traction during the onset of WOT. The light flashed and my butt dyno confirmed it. Everyone knows the Dinan P2 package isn't the strongest in terms of HP. Regardless, the torque can be overwhelming through low to midrange, especially with a downpipe.

Yeah, and I totally like and respect your move to 295mm tire. I most likely am about to do the same in one month or two when I receive my new wheels.

I myself used Dinan stg1 for a while. The torque is nothing like Dinan advertises... It builds up quickly just a tad above 3k and stay as high as possible until around 5k5. That's when things get a little tricky because of the overboost feature from factory.

Color me super surprised that 265/35 doesn't rub in the front with a stock setup.

I just bought a new set of PS4S all around, I wish I had seen this thread first... Would've gone to something wider if I knew it would fit the stock setup without rubbing.

Sean, have you made the move to the 295 in the rear? What wheels did you go with? Any pics? Thanks!

I'd also be curious if this would apply to M2 Competition as well? I would assume so.

Any issues at all? Understeer/oversteer? How much does it help with traction?

This is a terrific thread OP!

I much prefer meaty tires over a stretched setup.

So 295/30 at back, 245/35 at front?

Isn't this too much of a gap

Wow, any more room for 305s at the back?

With the 295 on a 10 inch rim, did you find the tyres wobble at the limit and affected handling? I know the PS4S has fairly soft sidewalls so more prone to deformation than say the AD08R or Goodyear F1 SS

Fitting a 305 to the rear is as simple as getting the right wheel size and offset.

19 x 11 +43 will work with the 305 without rubbing.

Not sure about stock wheels though.

Yes I know that but what I want to know from him was if his current setup can fit 305s

Don't think you can use 305 on stock wheels, that will be to wide.
I think it will rubb and maybe bulge to much.

I'm not a super fan of the look with a 295 rear, I think a 285 would look better imo.

I'm thinking to go to 265/30 and 285/30. Based on my calculations the sidewall difference from stock will be just a little bit shorter with 30's so should work out fairly well.
