Love or loath it, it is a striking design. If this car makes production it will surely tone down the OTT elements and what will emerge is an M2 extra which can't be bad.

As for haters, well, they are always there and I would rather be hated for pushing the boundries than complying with passing fads or vanilla design.

That's the opposite of a hommage design.

Hommage designs are always forced as the designer tries to make something that has the same similar impression on a platform that is vastly different.

Might that be the reason why I usually dont like hommage designs?
But it looks more like the batmobile than a 2002 (as already said).

And what's that with the wheelspin on the gravel?!?
A proper working LSD should be able to counter for that?!?

Overall this car looks awesome. M striping on drivers mirror is sharp. Built in tow hooks look great. Offset BMW roundel in the rear bumper cover adjacent to the license plate with a clean trunk lid fascia check. And again can't get over how good these wheels look. Scott mentioned some design aspects of this will come to the market place but obviously not the car itself. As another posted above these would look phenomenal on my F80

When can we buy them Scott and how much do we have to give for them? Please bring these to market

2 series chassis with i3 tails, i8esqu 'flying fenders,' M style airdam, exhaust, brakes and wheels. Headlights from 2005 mustang.

I think BMW design is shopping for new iconic features and the i design fenders are where they seem to be spending a lot of attention.
