This reminds me of what they tried to do with the 3.0 CSL concept to pay tribute to the original car; the original completely destroyed their updated design.

If they really wanted to pay tribute, BMW should have taken an awesome example of the 2002 and gone on a massive tour across Germany to display it.

Trying to update these classics via a modern design just isn't working.

How long until someone stripes out their driver's-side mirror cover?

The car will not make production in this form. But it has ideas that will.

I really like the front, the profile is interesting, the back is.. erm, not so good.

Just my opinion, I think the Hommage vehicles are pretty interesting.

Well, BMW continues to evoke emotion with their designs...
Perhaps not the kind of emotion they hope for at times.

I actually like it...

Beautiful car. like the return to squarish styling, reminds me of my old e36 M3. I would buy one.

of all the things they could have done, they made this abortion to disgrace the 2002 name.

And yet, nobody has paid attention to this...

That being said, how much time has to past before they do an e46 M3 Hommage?

Its perfect. The current 2er finds its roots within the 2002 just as the M2 can find its past and future genealogy in the 2002 Turbo.
