Recommendations to Ceramic My 788M Wheels
I've had enough... 4,000 miles in, and these wheels are just so frustrating to keep clean. It takes me longer to clean my wheels than it does the rest of the exterior and interior combined. And that's just getting the surface dirt off. The barrels are still totally fucked. I would like to ceramic coat these wheels in hopes that it will take most of the frustration out of cleaning them.
Can some folks out there recommend a good DIY kit for ceramic coating these? I've never done it before, but it can't be that hard. |

I’m going to use Gtechniq C5 Wheel Armour for mine when I change over to my summer wheels. I used it for my winter wheels and it worked pretty well. Made it I easier to clean although I still need to spend time with a soapy microfiber mitt to get all the dirt and grime. It won’t completely eliminate the frustration due to all the nooks and crannies but it should make it a bit easier.

The best thing to do really is to get simpler wheels. I personally don't see how ceramic coating wheels makes it any less work to properly clean. I still coated my new wheels but it's not like just spraying it with water, pressure washer or otherwise, will clean it 100%. You still have to contact wash every part of the wheel whether it's been coated or not.
The only real difference I see on paint or wheels when it's been coated is it looks a bit different and it's more hydrophobic. I guess it makes it easier for when I use a leaf blower to help dry the car.

It sounds like you don't have the proper tools, but I'm just assuming. The stock M2C wheels do look like a pain to clean, but ceramic coating them will definitely help. The recommendations on getting a different set of wheels is honestly the best method unless you're in love with the stock wheels for some reason.
Remember there is no such thing as a spray on and rinse off product for paint or wheels. Agitation will always be needed unless you're washing your car every single day and it sits in some sort of bubble. |

Here are the results after I used Nanolex from DetailersDomain.com. Feel free to look at my build thread to see the process on how I cleaned and then applied the ceramic coating.

I did the same. It certainly does not make them a rinse and go but definitely easier to clean than without. Did two solid coats.

I use an EZ Detail Brush. Works well except in front wheel where it can’t get under the brake caliper.

Just had my rims powdercoated and took the opportunity to apply 2 coats of Gyeon Rim. Took bloody ages but hopefully will save some time keeping them clean |
