2019 M2 - Questions please before I purchase
Hi everyone, first time in the M2 forums as I'm in the market to buy an M2. Really looking to buy a 2019 M2 Comp with the S55, instead of the N55 model.
I saw one with only 800 miles and was able to bring it down to $52,000. Is this a good deal? Car fax is absolutely clean. It's also a manual. How is the manual transmission in these cars? Thanks in advance all. Attached a few pictures! |

I'd say decent depending on the packages. Hopefully Exec at least. Good deal if its a DCT. Remember, 2020's can be had for 10% off with some browsing.

We sense it has a 6MT, but what else? Exec pack? Lets assume its a Exec and 6MT car, then around here you could get a new one for $56k. So, not the the best deal for a 2019 used even through mileage is low. But again, if these are hard to find for you, then go for it

You can buy a new one for a couple thousand more. Sunset Orange + 6MT + Exec is the exact I wanted (and purchased), but I had to fly 700 miles to MD to pick it up. There were none local to me, hence the flying.
Also, I am fairly certain that the "free" maintenance plan that comes with these cars ONLY applies to first owners. Therefore, you would be charged for oil changes and other small maintenance stuff at the dealers. I could be wrong, but I thought I read this somewhere. |

That's correct Conissah - I actually got one oil change free before they caught on. My car had 3500 miles when I bought it. |

Looks nice. Price is good. Wholesale on that car is probably around $49,000, so don't let the sales staff trick you into thinking they're scraping by.
All I could say is make sure it isn't a press car dumped on the second hand market. I'm not sure what's happening recently, but Perillo BMW in Chicago used to sell former press cars. They had a few nicely discounted 1Ms for sale at one point and all were press cars. |

Some clues as to what kind of life it might've had.
1. Did the sales person go with you when you test drove? My dealer had sales person follow people on M cars. While you can't stop loose morale sales person, you can at least assume some care has been applied to stop people going crazy for the whole test drive. 2. Check the tire tread and tire condition. While you're at it, you may as well check the wheels for damages. 3. Check for suction cups marks on on all the windows, interior and exterior. Mostly interior, most dealers are piss poor at wiping windows. Those are usual tell tale signs of press cars or some youtuber doing reviews. And you know what youtubers and press do to these cars. If not drifting, launching at the very least and multiple times so to get multiple camera angles for the shot. 4. Check the underside of the front bumper, it's fairly common to have scraps there. From steep driveways and going through speed bumps at stupid speeds. Because services workers really cares about your future car *sarcasm*. |

I like the color.
I would use the economic downturn as leverage on any dealer. $52 sounds fair, assuming that all is good (excellent advice in this thread).
