From ED to US Delivery...

I know I was quoted 6-8 weeks, but i am curious to hear from East coast folks who did ED in late May/early June, when they are expecting their cars states side.

I will start

I did ED on 6/6/19. I dropped off the car on 6/14/19 at the Munich location. My car got on the Morning Cecilie on 6/24/19. Since it left Bremerhaven, the Morning Cecilie has been making various stops across Europe. Right now, it is in England. I am told it will hit Newark, NJ port on 7/9/19. Assuming all goes well at customs, i am hoping to get the car at the dealership the last week of July....the wait is killing me

Mine's on Morning Cecilie as well. Right now it is in the mid Atlantic on its way to Halifax where it will drop my car off on July 8th. I am expecting about another 2 weeks of transit after that before its at my dealer. So roughly the last week of July. Maybe yours will clear customs faster than mine? But I was told 2 weeks.

I dropped mine off in Munich on June 7th... Haven't been able to track it since.
Where and how are you getting your information? 😥

I dropped mine off in Zurich on the June 7th as well and the car is currently on the Apollon Highway. It left on 6/26 and will arrive at Baltimore on the 11th. I am guessing your car should have left on the same boat or even before that. Your CA should have the ship info on his system.

Email login out and provide your name and VIN. They will provide you with the name of the ship, when it's scheduled to leave and when it's scheduled to arrive in the US. They responded to my request within a couple hours.

useful info for folks waiting on their cars to arrive states side. You can track the status of your car /cargo through WWL website or by calling their customer service number 201 505 4000. the cargo ID is your VIN

They stopped allowing VIN tracking in the last year or so -- now you need to know the bill of lading number to track a car with WW. I suspect there was some sort of privacy/security concern.

If you call them, they'll look it up using your VIN and give you lading #

It arrived!!!

Just got a call from my SA informing me my ED car arrived at the dealer. I am excited!

It took just over 4 weeks from drop off at Munich airport to my dealer in southern NJ.

Good luck to everyone still waiting.

Garage List
June 11th - Dropped car off in Frankfurt with BLG
June 15th - Arrived in Bremerhaven
June 17th - Assigned to ship MORNING CECILIE
June 24th - Boarded ship MORNING CECILIE
July 8th - Arrived in Halifax, Nova Scotia
July 15th - Scheduled for pickup at CN Montreal Autoramp by Hansen's Forwarding
July 17th - Picked up by Hansens
July 17th - Delivered to Dealer

I'm crossing my fingers that they manage to make the 11 minute drive from CN Autoramp to the dealer in less than 3 days? But I guess I can't really complain.

Dealer told me they could have it ready for me by the day after it is dropped off with them.

Total transit time: 36 days

Man. Mine arrived on July 5th and cleared custom on July 10th. It's been stuck in VPC since then and the dealer doesn't know what's up :/. I was really hoping to pick it up tomorrow.

I wonder if it got damaged in transit since nothing was marked when I dropped it off.

So far:
Drop off date: 5/23 in Frankfurt
On boat: 6/07
Landed in Port Hueneme: 7/5
Cleared customs: 7/10

Update:

VPC released it on Monday and it was supposed to arrive at the dealer on Weds. They texted me that the car has arrived so I booked my tickets to fly out Sat morning.

Friday night, the dealer messaged me saying that on paper it said delivered but they can't find the freaking car.......

So now I'm stuck while they're trying to figure out where it went (and I lost out on the flight costs)

What a nightmare.

Will edit this post with updates (updated with scheduling dates from courier):

07/26 - Dropped car off in Munich Airport with loginout
08/14 - Departure date on Morning Charlotte (scheduled)
08/24 - Arrival in Baltimore (scheduled)

The courier let me know that my car will leave on Tuesday to Bremerhaven. For updates, they asked for 10 days and they should be able to provide the ship and tracking info. Going to port in Baltimore, MD.

Hope this helps other folks planning their ED trip.

They quoted me ten days to get shipping info but they were able to provide me with details when I emailed them the Monday or Tuesday after I dropped off the car the previous Friday
