@Robin_NL S55 is much more tunable no question about it. But there is a point you'd think it's too much power for F platform. I think it's somewhere around 450whp, which is within the reach of N55 on pump gas.
There're a lot of M3/4 guys in my area, 500 S55s ballpark. Me myself included. I drive and tune M4 all the time since early 2015. I flashed much much more STG1 M4 than STG2. Why? Too much damn power. S55 buddies are getting sick of power, which is way way more than the platform can handle. That's seriously annoying power. Power isn't an issue for F platform, other stuffs are.

picked up my m2c yesterday.
I had a 2016 m2 for more than 2 years initial impression the og m2 pulls harder from lower RPM.. simply the torque are delivered lower down m2c is a lot louder than og m2 handling they feel about the same except the front end feels a bit more tight

unrequested opinion here. local dealer had a m2C show up in HS. I went to see it in person. They also have a MG '18 M2. I'll be damned if I left thinking if I was going to buy, right now, I'd take the MG M2 and the savings based on the idea I'm more likely to get a deal on the older model. Plus, I was shocked how much HS waters down the aggressive look of the car, or is it those wheels? Not sure, but my first m2c introduction was not what I was hoping for.

Do you think it's throttle mapping? When I drove M4 and M2 back to back in Spartanburg I thought sport and sport plus throttle settings were way more aggressive in the M2. Maybe it is the engine though, hard to say.

Well covered in the M2C forum. Similar to M3/4 changes. Linear map to make the car less likely to suddenly kill you. Also proof pizza guy hasn’t driven it. But that’s another story.

From a marketing perspective, I wonder if the name is a big part of the popularity. Aside from silver being popular for most car brands, "Hockenheim" is very masculine, and German, and it sounds aggressive. We'll never know, but I bet the take rate would have been lower if they'd named it something like "Madrid Silver" or whatever. I chose LBB and dig it, but otherwise I think the M2 color palette is pretty bland. And absent a standout color, a standout color name may sway people. Yes, I'm off on a tangent, sorry OP. And no, I don't expect my color name theory to be well received!

Every single owner post (including many going from M2 to M2C) has commented on less low end torque. Except for guy one that seems to have read a few specs and formed an opinion based on that. Anyway... |

The S55 hits harder when the power does come on - at least the one I drove did exactly like my old M4 was. Low end is in the 3500-4500RPM range - you should rarely be at 2000-3000RPM on a road course. Mid is 4500-5500 and Top is 5500-7+k in the n55 +500 for the S55 The S55 makes substantially more power and torque in the 3500-4500 range, right where you'll be at corner exit on a lower speed corner.
