Lost the tire lottery and got stuck with the Conti's when I picked up my M2 in Oct 2016. Having driven the M2 with the PSS I was pretty disappointed and as I continued to drive my my car I found more to dislike about the Conti's. At 10,000 miles the rears were worn enough that I decided to change them out early for the Pilot Sport 4s. I have driven the car 18,000 miles on the 4s and I can tell you they are excellent, in addition to improved turn in, ride quality, road noise, wet weather grip and cold weather performance (relative as I live in AZ) I am extremely impressed with how well they wear. At 18,000 miles the rears still have 5/32 of tread and the fronts have just over 7/32. I do a mix of driving not terribly aggressive but more aggressive than most, haven't don any track time on these tires but will during the coming weekend.

On a side note recently I did the advanced M school out at Thermal and all of the cars had the new Continental Extreme Contact Sport which were very good. According to the instructors they don't have as much ultimate grip as the super sports but are more consistent over the course of a run than the super sport.

I haven't driven the 4s on track yet so I don't have a comparison but I would recommend the 4s for anyone looking for excellent performance and great tread life.

Agreed. It’s a fantastic street tire.

It doesn’t have as much dry grip in the corners as a track tire, but super comfortable, quiet, and easy to drive at the limit. Also, it’s a great wet track tire.

Not a night/day improvement over the MPSS, but definitely noticeable.

What size did you go with for the front and rears?

I went with the same size as comes from the factory on the M2, at the time the 4s was very limited in size availability so there wasn't much of an option do anything else. Not sure if I will change the size up when these eventually wear out.

I'm thinking of going 255 in the front and 275 in the rears. They have those sizes available now.

Glad to hear they wear better than the Contis. I too lost the lottery and burned through my rear Contis in 10k miles. Just have the Michelin's on the rear right now so that I can pass yearly inspection but will be getting the fronts replaced in the next 2 months. I loved the MPSS on my last car so I am sure I will love these.

The rears seem nice so far but we have a cold spell lately with some random bouts of snow. supposed to be in the 70s and 80s at the end of the week so I will get to test them more soon. I think the Conti fronts will lack the bite I need to really push the rear end.

You will feel an immediate change in the turn in with the 4S, it was like a different car.
