The metallic issues are a myth. I have had it all my BMW's even with comfort access no problems at all.

Good to know you are using metalized tint without any issues on your M2. When researching, most everything I read advised against using metalized tint on newer cars loaded with tech. I also had two tint shops tell me they will not install metalized tint on new BMWs. But I'm not an expert on window tint, so maybe this is a myth being purveyed by the industry to get people to buy more expensive ceramic tint. I've also had metalized tint on my cars in the past, but this was years ago before cars came loaded with all this tech. Whether this whole interference thing is real or not, I would've still gone with ceramic over metalized or dyed tint, because ceramic tint is supposed to provide superior UV and heat protection. I also think it looks less reflective or mirror like. I would highly recommend Llumar films because I've had it on multiple cars. It's very durable and doesn't change color. I have 11 year old Llumar tint on my S2K and it still looks great.

does anyone have any experience with Solargard? ultraperformance tint? I'm planning to go ultra performance 10 all around and maybe 40 for the windshield. My only concern is if there will be any signal interference. although solargard's website says the tint is Satellite, GPS and cellular signal friendly.

I ordered 20 film. Kind of think I should have went 30. Middle of summer and in parking lots I love 20. Winter/night and everyday driving I like 30. I go back and forth on 20/30 each time I get tint.

30% all around

Notes: overcast day, just out of shop (wet tint)
I'll update when it's dry

My son learning how to drive 6MT (Sunday night) most stores closed @ shopping plaza, he only stalled out twice!

Plus 1

30% with black interior and white exterior makes the tint I think a little darker looking

I'm happy with my pick but was on the fence before putting it on 20? 30? 20? 30?
I'm in Massachusetts, USA more overcast days here than sunny

I'm considering redoing my window tinting as I just had to replace my windshield. I had the llumar air blue 80 up front and CTX 15 (vlt 20%)all around. When I had it done I kind of wished it was darker. Also the air blue 80 has a subtle ice blue look from the outside which I'm not sure if a darker tint would look better on the BSM.

I've been doing some research and the best tint in the market right now is Xpel prime xr plus. I'm considering putting the 70 up front and 15 (vlt 12%) all around.

Anyone installed the xpel xr plus 70 and 15 especially on the BSM?

My m2 set-up. I really like tint and don't mind risking getting a ticket, with modern headlights i'm not afraid to run a tinted windshield and tint technology has gotten really good.

ceramic llumar 15% on windows
Ceramic llumar 50% on windshield

my truck has 3m 5% on fronts, 18% over factory on rear (roughly 2-3%) and 35% on windshield, its dark but nice and the film on windshield isn't bad to see out of but can barely see in. Night and raining really sucks backing up.

Front Windshield:
3M Crystalline 70 (69 VLT% = Meters to 60%)
This is probably the best film there is in terms of heat rejection without going too dark. But it is also really expensive to do all windows with this film. The 70 percentage does not interfere much for night time driving

Rest of the windows:
3M Ceramic IR 25 (30 VLT% = Meters to 22%)
This is a brand new Ceramic film from 3M (released late late Fall 2019). A step down from Crystalline, and is meant to compete with Llumat CTX, Formula 1 Pinnacle, and Suntek CIR (all Ceramic Films). The 25 is very classy, it's not blacked out dark on sunny days and gives some privacy. Easy to see at night. They do make a IR 15 (which is a 19% film) and will meter at 12% on BMW windows if you want to go darker.

Overcast day

I got my tint about 2 weeks ago and there's still bubbles in my defroster lines. Do other people have this problem? I went to a supposedly reputable good shop but this seems shoddy
