Porsche to replace M2CS?
I’ve been getting the itch to purchase a Porsche. Which Porsche would you get to replace M2CS?
I’ve been getting a lot of Porsche ads and it’s working lol 🤣 |

Wow, you move on quickly! It seems like you got your M2CS only just a month or two ago. Good hunting!

I've had many 911s and would only consider the 991.2 TT as a replacement if I was so inclined...

I honestly think you'll miss your M2CS. I would say add a Porsche in addition to your CS, but not sure I'd want to replace it myself. I have a M2C + Porsche and find it's a great combo . The M2 is just such a great daily with actual storage space that it is hard to beat.

I've had this itch for over a year now too but I held out and resisted. Just bought an e92 m3 tonight to add onto my m2cs. I think the v8 will provide adequate fun for the next several years and by then hopefully I'll get an allocation off the list for a 992.2 gt3

I think this is a difficult question. The M2 CS is unlike any Porsche I've ever driven or owned, both air cooled or modern. As cliche' as it may sound, they are truly apples and oranges.
The closest you might come is a manual GT3. It's clearly a better drivers car than the M2 CS will ever be, but it's completely different. If you're looking to upgrade to a raw, race ready, extremely capable sports car, that'd be my choice. Me? I'm happy with the unique experience the M2 CS provides that is different.

I’m considering a 2024 911 GTS……anyone have both that could offer a perspective to the CS?
The GT3 is great….however, I’m primarily a back country road driver that likes to hit the twisties. So, I prefer a Turbo for that low end torque and usable power band on the streets. |

The 911 is an entirely different level. Everybody should own one at least once in their life.

Test drive a 911. And I mean, really drive it. Don't go to a dealership and drive one around the block, with the sales person sitting next to you. Rent one on Turo for a few days, taking the time to put it through the same paces as your M2.
I say this because, last year, I was convinced I was getting a 911. But after really experiencing a 911.2 T on some long canyon runs and normal around-town driving, I found myself walking away, less impressed than I anticipated. It truly gave me an increased appreciation for the M2. Especially when you consider the overall value proposition. And, at the risk of offending some, I can wholeheartedly say... absolutely do NOT waste your time with a standard Carrera (non-S/T). It just lacks too much, in my opinion.

Anything less than a Porsche GT car, you will be asking for more and eventually get bored really quick. So i skipped all that and went straight to a GT3 as my first ever Porsche. Going in 3.5 years, i still have that big grin on my face that i could hardly wipe off.
Didn't consider any other 911 other than the turbo at just the slightest bit. You just got the m2cs though. Was this an impulse buy ? lol Take it to some canyon runs and perhaps could sway you from keeping it.

M2 CS is totally different to any 911, the feedback here is spot on. Spend more time with the CS and you will be impressed about its capabilities. Plus it is a very rare car, if that matters to you.

I've been feeling the same itch, partly driven by the fact that my M2CS is a DCT and I want a manual now. I feel like a 991.2 GTS or a T with some mods would be my ideal replacement but it's a bit more expensive and I'm not sure it will give me the experience that the CS does. I'm also keeping my eye on 997 S's which I know will be less powerful but I'm not taking either to the track, just canyon drives. I always end up realizing what a few of you have already said, which is that I just need to ADD the Porsche and not replace.

Any Porsche you buy will never be the same experience as the CS. None of them deliver what the CS delivers because they're PORSCHES in various denominations. Porsches are different.
The GT3 will deliver more smiles per mile than the CS and is more dedicated. A GT4 could give the CS a run for its money too, especially the new GT4 RS. Get the GT3 but don't expect it to be a DD. Nobody ever regrets getting a GT3, they just don't like driving it daily.
