I bought the car in 5/2020, the car was manufactured in 12/2019. Anyone have any documentation from BMW that states that the oil service dates coincide w the manufacture date as opposed to the in service date?

Btw, my dealer is indeed doing the oil change, but if possible I would like to provide something to them just to educate...they are a good dealer and the service advisor seems like a good guy.
Follow your service indicator. It's mileage and time based. I would have thought your first service would be closer to May 2021 as long as you did break in service.

Service indicator says service is due 12/2020, service advisor thought this was incorrect as the car just had the break in service 2 months ago. I was trying to provide him some info from BMW to show that the service indicator is indeed correct and oil change is indicated. Not a big deal as the dealer is doing my service, just wanted to kindly educate the SA.

The run in service is an intermediate service, so the interval is not reset.

1200 miles is 10% of the EU average annual car mileage of 12,000miles so "on average" you would assume the run in would be about 5 weeks into ownership.

In the UK they reset service interval at dealer PDI check (pre delivery inspection) so service time is from that dealer prep date not manufacture. (UK interval is 2 years too)
