Hadn’t seen the HPR tower brace before. Can you give us some information on that?

Look great, but they would negate how the car would perform in a frontal collision. The stock braces are designed to bend and absorb/transmit forces at a controlled rate upon impact.

In addition, if they were designed as a mean to absorb collision impact, positioning them at those angles isn't quite logical to absorb forces from a direct frontal collision. Also, at that height, the impact forces would have been absorbed by the collision bar up front already. Not to mention, how thin these metal braces are. IMO, they are there to increase the rigidity of the chassis. |

There are some design flaws which I am looking into ways to improve, for example, the direction of the brace mating with the mounting plates, it would work better in the top-down or left-right directions as the torsion force created by the chassis will eventually act as a cutting force on the screws and over time they might become loose. Nevertheless, it's working good for now, not sure if this current setup is making the front end too stiff or not, will also have a few very experienced amateur racers try it out and provide some feedback. |

Dare I ask...does it actually do anything? I didn't feel like the front-end was flexing under load on track...like it didn't even feel like it needed a strut bar...maybe larger sway bars...maybe

You tune it based on what kind of feedback you get from driving on the road and the track. So, there's absolutely no guideline as to what you should get for the M2. I drive hard on open back roads and really hard on the track. I want the reassurance that my car's chassis isn't gonna be heavily distorted and that the car's front end stays precisely where I want it to go. Not to mention that I think these look way better than the two metal sheets from the OEM.... |

Here's also a good read:
http://news.bimmerworld.com/is-a-strut-brace-worth-it/ As mentioned in the article, the deformation/distortion of the chassis will happen over time . By having a strong strut/corner brace will prevent this from happening or at least decrease the severity of it. So, I didn't make these things up and even if you are not feeling it right now, doesn't mean it's not happening, it's a gradual process. |

Food for thought: the Dinan CF intake requires a small amount of cutting of the right side brace. I'm not sure how that affects the strength of the brace, but if your braces allowed for the Dinan intake without cutting it would probably be a nice upgrade for us Dinan intake peeps over the oem braces.

ditching steel for aluminum without significant geometry change is a wash in terms of weight saving. Al is 3 times lighter yet 3 time weaker stiffness.
CF sheet is much weaker for bending stiffness comparing to steel, not recommended. For appearance, sure. |

Really nice!
I like the milled out sections but not the lines of the cutter tool. I think the bolts should be black anodized I really dislike the raised weld around the middle bolt, I think that should be milled off. How does the front section fit into the corner pieces?
