No, those numbers are in line with other BMWs in this power range. I'm not aware of any 8s BMWs with manual or DCT (there might be some extremely light e30).

uhhh....yup.
Apparently you don't follow the coyote world too much before you make claims. This has been common knowledge since 2015-2016. This is 100% stock engine and trans + torque converter Running 9s is cookie cutter basic stuff now for the 15+ mustang - they were doing that on the 11-14s way back in the day with just a converter Even an old steel body F150 with a chinese twin setup will run mid 10s on a stock truck + torque converter. Even naturally aspirated bolt-on 2018 F150s are in the 11s now. Do your research before talking smack so you don't look so uneducated, the 2018+ Gen 3 coyote has made over 1200whp stock motor - 1000-1100whp is not uncommon on a basic twin setup now. For the post above - the V6 and V8 do not share the same driveshaft. They are almost entirely different driveline wise from the V6 so making that analogy makes 0 sense. I agree, a Mustang is a great way to go very quick/fast for cheap, though I'm way more partial to the Fox body notchback with perhaps a Coyote swap.
Much lighter chassis and a shorter wheelbase . With that said, COME ON. Let's be very honest here. You know (just as well as I) that a stock block Coyote and 6r80 trans doesn't live too long behind 700+whp/wtq and this particular Coyote is pushing well in excess of 1100whp and even more torque. Most anyone that knows Coyotes knows these motors have a handful of weaknesses when pushed real hard (just like any other motor). A few hero passes with big power doesn't mean that the Coyote lives long and it's my understanding that particular car is on its third motor now. Luckily Coyote short blocks are crazy cheap in comparison to the N55 shortblock (~$3500 vs ~$14000). It's also not a "stock driveline" in that Stang. It has a beefier TC and stronger axles. That 6r80 surely didn't live long either as it's when known while quite strong, needs a TCM tune, upgraded clutch packs, and a beefier input and immediate shafts to survive very long behind 500wtq. To go mid 8s to mid 10s in a 2011+ twin turbo Stang with some reasonable amount of reliability requires a built Coyote, a built tranny, stronger axles, suspension work, and ideally a live axle swap for the IRS gen cars. FAR from a "stock" driveline. That would be like me saying the stock block N55 and N54 motors are " reliable" pushing 600whp. LOL Next time, don't be so quick to judge and assume I know nothing about "5.0s" because you're sorely mistaken. |
