Most people won’t be able to distinguish between a regular 2 series and a M2 but doesn’t mean they look too similar |

I just bought my 2018 M2 a week ago and wrote a comparison to the M2C I was also looking at. Hope this is useful for you guys considering the switch:

Eye opener, dunno what the tarmac conditions were in the M2, but take a look at this, Moran(APEX Nürburg, M2, below) vs Christian, Sportauto Carmag , above.
Different driving styles, worn out PSS tyres on M2Comp whatever was going on but Moran is the faster one in this case, relatively spoken: On the other hand: We only see half a lap and not the complete lap, which means the guy below could have saved his tyres by driving relatively slow(er) than CG at that part of the track .... m gott is so good he was total stock in the m2 including the tires. He was so much smoother in all the turn-not even close.
brake squeals are the m2 moran will be faster in the m2comp than sport auto when go tries next week-bet on it Last edited by Bobdaxx; 11-13-2018 at 10:02 AM.. |

Thanks for posting! Watching that video I'm reminded of just how incredible these cars are. Can't believe I have one in my garage. Damn we are lucky. |

I asked Moran(which I never met, but probably will next season) , the OG M2 driver in the comments below: "Great driving, I also want to see the first part of Moran's lap, because now we have only the 'last' 3 minutes of one lap so that's not really fair is it? Cheers Robin" Moran replied: "Thanks I totally understand where you coming from but I looked for a part without traffic in my lap, this 3min is more technical part of the track so there is not much to gain with power. I can upload the full lap but there will be a different of 5-6sec because of traffic and power" And I stated: "@M Gott No worries, I bet you're even faster than Christian, same conditions, same car and I think highly of CG/Sportauto. Cheers Robin" And that statement still stands for me. There is a video of Moran driving a UK bimmerpost member's rhd OG M2 chasing/eating an F80 M3 for breakfast at the Nordschleife Moran can take so much speed into turns like almost nobody else overthere in normal roadcars. Similar story from our local BMWCCA instructors. An M2 easily passed the M3s on track day. Both cars were driven by instructors.
