VRSF 5" Street HD Intercooler FMIC Upgrade Kit for 12-18 F20 & F30 228i/M235i/M2/328i

VRSF Upgraded Street HD Intercooler Kit - 2012-2015 BMW 228i/M235i/328i/335i/428i/435i N20/N26 & N55

Replace your inefficient factory intercooler with a VRSF upgraded intercooler kit to get the most out of your N20/N55. VRSF intercooler options were designed to be the best performing, direct bolt on intercoolers available for your BMW with special attention to quality and performance while maintaining a reasonable price. Our intercoolers allow for higher HP gains, mainly due to their incredibly dense internal and external fin packs which offers a greater overall surface area for increased heat dissipation. The denser HD fin pack offers the ability to keep intake temps down while preventing heat soak which is a common problem with the factory intercooler. This results in a more power and increased reliability with reduced chances of pre-detonation & knock.

Intercooler Core

The most important component of any intercooler is the core. The core cools the charged air from the turbo before it enters the engine and the OEM BMW tube and fin intercooler is designed to support low boost levels and air flow. Once boost levels and air flow are increased, the OEM unit is easily overwhelmed and can not keep up with the cooling demands of a tune running more than OEM boost levels. This results in heatsoak which will result in a power loss and a higher potential for pre-detonation in the upper RPM range.

VRSF remedy this problem with our custom high density bar and plate core design which utilizes a staggered and offset internal and external fin pack. VRSF cores have been carefully balanced to provide the the best intake temperature reduction while maintaining minimal pressure drop. VRSF HD bar & plate core is also much more durable than the OEM tube and fin core, with a better ability to withstand rocks and other debris.

The VRSF Street HD Intercooler is comprised of an incredibly dense fin pack both internally and externally. It's not uncommon to see intake temperatures drop at the end of a 3rd gear pull due to the Street HD's larger overall surface area. You can expect to see an intake temperature reduction on a stock turbo, full bolt on car during a 3rd gear pull which is why we the Street HD is THE best option for your N55. Please note that the HD fin pack is now included with all VRSF F30 intercoolers free of charge!

Installation

These are complete plug and play bolt on solutions and we include everything required to replace the OEM intercooler. All VRSF intercoolers feature tabs that allow the retention of the factory fan shroud. Our bolt on end tanks utilize the OEM intercooler piping as well as aftermarket chargepipes. Each VRSF intercooler is hand finished and pressure tested to ensure a high quality, leak free experience. Our intercoolers fit both Left Hand Drive (LHD) & Right Hand Drive (RHD) Models as well as all XI models.

What intercooler would you suggest between Wagner Evo Competition 1, and 2? I have 18 M2 stock turbo, will have Charge Pipe (TBD), and Bootmod 3 Stage 1. Also would I be able to to Stage 2, if I went with Wagner Evo Comp 1?

With stock turbo and bolt-on upgrades, the EVO 1 is sufficient. It has 64% more surface area and 60% more volume. Plus it's on sale for $690 right now!
