I think it was my first date choice. I would have rather come in a day or two early, but I had a fare lock on this flight and fares went up.

Well at least you got a good fare! My business class lock for my desired date expired and I forgot to renew the one for the backup dates. Ugh! Now I have premium economy locked on United and business out premium back mileage award locked on American. American has C fare upgrade space as of now so there's an option there too.

Check into one way cash TAP for Europe to USA. Last year I paid less than $700 USD for biz.

Congrats! When is your delivery date?

Based on my understanding and through a very small sample size, the earliest production date for non-ED US bound cars is 7/28/20. Jealous that you EDers are prioritized. But makes complete sense with the 9/30 deadline.

I think he's July 30. According to Raven, there is an event at the Welt that prevents delivery from 09/28-09/30 and it's closed on Sundays, so the last date appears to be 09/26.

Awesome! Was that your desired date? I'll change the build up top shortly. Exec is good choice for the money!

Update for everyone. just heard from Raven. She is awesome! I have a tentative date of Friday, September 25th, with a requested date of the 26th pending. I was able to get her to hold afternoon of the 25th because I got a steal on a Lufthansa direct LAX-MUC business class for $1945 before $205 in chase points redemption, or $1740 round trip. I had to cancel that today if I didn't get 25th afternoon or later!

jzaz she's slating me for 3:30 pm wish if I can't get the 26th. If so, we could have a little mini group delivery haha!

In other good news, it appears the eurozone is opening to outside travelers starting July 1. Doesn't mean US travelers are allowed yet, but hopefully progress. In bad news, CDC is apparently saying we could have another lockdown...don't see that happening even if spread warranted it, but could impact travel.

These are the current rough tentatives for me. I may actually end up taking my mom for the Italian part of this journey if she wants to go. She'd love to see that part of Italy and, as Dad died last year, this would be good for her. That said, my ultimate goal is to do a 992 ED for her in about 3 years when she hits 75...the red 992 being her birthday gift would be the ideal trip. If she comes, we'd skip the Riviera and head for Paris direct to drop her off. Pontlevoy is where one of her very old friends has a small BNB...would be good to see her for first time in forever.

Long trip, but I love long trips!

This is so cool, thank you for sharing. I was doing mine the other day and its a good problem when Google maps says, "You've run out of way points" haha. Didn't even know that was possible! I'm planning something very similar except I'm going more east (to hungry, through Slovenia to Italy) and less west (far west France through Lux but into Amsterdam and Belgium). Drop off in Frankfurt.

Still no confirmed delivery date. Last update from Raven was that she encountered errors on my order and had to email her German colleagues

That's great on the route...still mulling going east as well. Yes, google maps runs out of points. I feel like it used to allow for more but about 4-5 years ago they cut it down...not sure why. Basically, any destination or change of the route by moving it with a dot/pin counts as a point.

What was your requested date? Mine were September 30, 29, 28 in that order. None were available because of event. She's trying to get me the 26th (Saturday), but we locked Friday just in case. I'd be walking right off the plane and to the car, but I've done that before and first day is super short to Kitzbuhel or Saalbach if that's the case.

For those of you that have the opportunity to venture further East. Consider checking out Croatia. It is a fantastic country and a hidden gem of Europe. Also, much more affordable that the typical tourist countries, but just as beautiful.

8/19, 8/30, 9/13, in that order. Have you tried using the road trippers app? It's also avail able online. The premium version you can plan out as much as you want and it includes popular (and less known) stops.

JC - thanks for the tip! I'll be close to that area and will check it out!

Almost positive the answer is yes. I think most EU countries are allowed. There used to be a list online, but the BMWUSA site now just says "Auf Wiedersehen, European Delivery"

The information packet you receive in the mail should have this information.

Two of those dates are Sundays...Welt is closed for delivery on Sunday, but guessing the issue is with your preferred date because they try to get that for your first.

Agree with F82, I read previously in the M3/4 ED stories of people going to Croatia. Also, there are so incredible roads there, a lot of twisties. The YouTube channel carfection went there a few times for their shoots

Ah, makes sense... didn't even think of that. Although you'd think my CA would catch that? Anyway, he did reach back out Saturday so hoping we hear back from Raven today.

Also wasn't aware of the insurance stuff...good to know. I'll be looking through that packet when I get it! Thanks for all the tips!
