Is it an F-type Jag (best sounding FI 6cylinder made)? No.

If you wanted a better sounding car with a sole purpose of smoking people at the lights, you'd be in an RS3. Neither M2 or Ftype are designed for straight line performance and they're not even direct comparables - but given your example I'd certainly take the Ftype and laugh at you for trying to race people at the lights in an M2. Its just a pity the S55 universally sounds terrible to most - and just acceptable to some. While its great to talk about the amazing things about our M cars, its also important to acknowledge its failings for improvement

The new Cayman is a prime example of that. People shit on it endlessly for it's sound. Calling Porsche stupid, saying the 981 is better because of the exhaust alone.

99% of the time, the person shitting on the 718 has never drove one. It's performance VASTLY makes up for its "lack" of soul people say it doesn't have from having a flat dour (Nevermind the fact Porsche has had good success with flat four engines in its history, but what do they know, it's not like they're Porsche, oh wait they are).


Having driven my 718 GTS alot I can tell you now, it's so much better in everywhere imaginable. It smokes alot of cars from a still and can out maneuver alot of other cars on the track. But what do I know, I bought a soul less car.

As much as I give the S55 shit for sounding, in my vastly superior opinion (Again, opinion), it sounds way better than alot of the cars on the road. Plus just get the MPE and a Fabspeed Catted DP if someone wants it to sound a bit meaner if the stock sound doesn't do it for them.
