rear lip spoiler or wing?
what would you put on the back??
currently i have a lip spoiler, when I saw the CF performance wing, I was like damn, thats what this needs but i keep seeing even on performance setups by bmw, they use the lip spoiler alot can you discuss the pros and cons of lip vs wing spoiler?? i know lip helps reduce the vacuum of air that would form behind the car at high speed, thus reducing speed the wing would keep the car planted during turns and high speeds, but will also increase drag going straight? would adjusting the height of the wing reduce the tendency to slow car the down? what yall think, gimee your 2 cents |

Many answers to your questions can be found here:
https://oppositelock.kinja.com/wings...ong-1665312667 I think most people run the spoiler because installing a wing means having to drill into your trunk. It's also not the most visually appealing thing you can install onto this car (although that's subjective). I personally installed a wing as opposed to a spoiler because I'm building a track car. That and I do the like the look of the wing. I think that unless you have a giant wing on the back of the car, have heightend risers on the wing, and angle the wing aggressively downward, it will have little relevancy to braking distances. |

im in the same boat right now, currently have the mp lip spoiler as i happened to already have one from a previous m235. im a big fan of the wing, and have been buying parts to mod the car for a lot better handling. have been going back and forth now for the last couple weeks on it. pros and cons, cons mainly being on the install and with resale being difficult unless you sell the car with the wing, or you swap trunks with someone later
although, id be rocking both since i installed the lip with a ton of extra 3m tape so that thing is never coming off my trunk, or at least im not willing to spend the time to clean that up a third time. lets see some photos if you end up going for it! |

Wings are for birds and airplanes. Stick with deck lip spoiler. Lots of choices out there to suit different tastes. Personal favs are the RKP CF and the OEM CF the latter currently on my car

It's easy to remove the 3m tape residue. Just buy one of those attachments for your drill. Took me literally 5 min to get it all off. |

Very nice. Does that spoiler actually lay flush on the ends or does it curl up like the M performance CF spoiler? I'm very disappointed in the fitment of the M performance spoiler.
