it goes to October 2020 and seems they will be making more each year than they did for MY16 and MY17. I fully expect M2C numbers to exceed M2 numbers unless they ramp down production which I don't think they will do. M2 production had to slowly ramp up.

I heard it was going to be about 8,000 with 1,800 going to the US. I am not sure what the actual number are going to be.

If that's the case then production was ramped up for a single year in 2017..

Now that LCI production has ended...

Any of our numbers aces know where to find the figures? Would be great to have a thread for the one-year LCI like the one [quoted above] for pre-LCI M2 Production Data

The initial guess was 8,000 world wide but it would be interesting to know the real number.

Thanks, man - pretty incredible - only TWO more LCI produced for NA than the pre-LCI (713 '16 MY + 2780 '17 MY, from your numbers pre-LCI M2 Production Data). Much appreciated! Curious about the color breakdown and the MT/DCT breakdown, if you ever get bored and/or have some time to kill.

Will post it later today or tomorrow. Surprisingly, the 6MT take rate is down in all markets with a major drop in the UK.

Damn I called that! Was pretty sure LCI was ramped up over pre LCI production so just one model year of LCI wouldn't be as small as people thought.

Wonder of how M2C production will ramp up? Probably faster than N55 M2 seeing as how M2 was a success.

Yea, not surprised either, after aggregating all the anecdotal evidence on here regarding the seemingly higher availability of the LCI after the first few months of production.

My guess is that M2C production levels won't be any higher, partly due to slightly higher price but mostly due to many folks who wanted this niche car already having obtained one. A few ppl will trade up but most ppl will not; then there's a few more who held out for the 'new' lump and, finally, there are ppl who wanted one but were unable to get one earlier for whatever reason(s). Adding all those buyers together, I'm expecting a similar set of numbers for the M2C.

Question, you're gathering this information through VIN's? Is it possible to look at your VIN and see how many were built before yours, like for example you have the 100th M2 or something like that?

So is this sales number(12,293 units) for 2017 a combination of pre-lci and lci sales?

The VINs are not sequential for all markets. The VIN numbers are split between 3 types of each model. North America (US and Canada), rest of world LHD and rest of world RHD. For example, lets assume North American cars start with the VIN AA00000 and end with the VIN AA10000. Rest of World LHD cars start with the VIN AA50000 and end at AA60000. So it's not possible to find out exactly what number you car is from the VIN alone. You can somewhat get the number for your version, but that is not accurate as well. Just because a car has a lower VIN number doesn't mean it was built before a car with a higher VIN.

This is SALES. So whatever M2 was sold during 2017 calendar year. So it could include early 2015 built cars and 2018 model year cars.

Great thread and information!

Is there similar insight into the M2C production? Perhaps it is too early.
Thank you
