It really is surprising how much its price has inflated, but M sales are up and people are still buying them. I'm amazed that a base MY19 M4 is $10,250 more than an M2c. I'm sure you can get some off the base price, maybe $2-3k, but even then it's still $7k more. And what surprises me is all the things the M2c comes with standard that you need to pay for on the M4. The M4 comes with 18" wheels, the 19's are $1,200 more. Extended Merino Leather is $950 more while Full Merino Leather is $3,500 more. So if you want an M4 with 19" wheels and leather seats (not full leather) it'll cost you $12,400 more than an M2c. Even if you get a few grand off MSRP on the M4 you're still around $9-10k more and that's without any other options.

Whats funny, the M4 is considered the "premium" car. But you still need to dish out $2,100 to get adaptive led. Honestly they should be standard on a car that starts at almost $70k. To get adaptive led on M2C it is only a $1,200 up charge. My 2019 M4 build is another $16,850(paint, leather, comp, exec).

Thats why the M2/LCI was such a great deal; for a modest exec pkg charge added to the car's base price, you basically had Everything except comp pack, which you get stardard with the M2C, which compared to the M4 also looks like a good deal.

Makes you wonder what the next generation M3 and M4 will cost with the nearly 500 hp.

Well in that case, starting price of the 2016 M2 was $51,700 when it was introduced so a total of $7K increase compared to 2019 M2C. In fact, 2018 M2 started production in 07/17 so the price increased almost $3K from $51,700 to $54,500 in little over a year (MY2016 to MY2018).

The DIFF, no discount on M2C while M4 can be had close to invoice (not to mention more incentives afterward that pushes M4 below invoice w/o even trying), comparing MSRP alone can be misleading.

Already been discussed in this thread. Also, find one dealer that's going to sell a MY19 M4 (not MY18) at or even close to invoice on a car that's not even out yet. Maybe later in the year, but not now.
