M2CS DME Locked?

Haven't been able to find definitive answer to this, but is the CS DME locked preventing software flashes like BM3, Dinan, etc?

I would be surprised if it wasn’t. The M2C is locked.

Kind of turns me off to the CS even though I really want one. Maybe this is the excuse I need to talk myself out of spending the money? Ha ha!

Basically guaranteed all US m2cs will have the updated Bosch DME and are not bench tunable. Some of the Euro and early delivery CSs will be.

You can still do piggy back type tuning.

Aside from the unlockable ECU, I'm hearing BMW has implemented an algorithm in their software that automatically detects tune faults, and flags the VIN. Be careful out there folks... your warranty is on the line. BMW ain't fuking around anymore.

It all depends on what version your ECU is. I was talking to my tuner about this and he said there's a way to tune the ECU. The way he was explaining it to me is there are different seventies of "lock". Its either open, kinda locked or completely fucked and you need to by a different ECU to tune the car. He just did a new supra that was completely fucked and the customer had to buy a new ECU to tune the car. No matter the severity the ECU needs to be benched tuned.
