How long was your total wait?

I know there are some SERIOUS longhaulers on this board. So I was curious to see what the times were for people.

I put my deposit down 12/6/19 and took delivery 12/18/20. So 377 days.

I was slightly late to the party, I pretty much learned about the CS in November of 2019 after the press release as I wasn't a 2 series/M2 guy at all and had been on the GT4 train previously.

You?

Spec’d car sept 11th. Made a deposit on Sept 12th (I believe that's when BMW NA finalized pricing) Car landed at dealership Dec 23rd.

My dealer got one allocation and knew I wanted it since early 2019 when I ordered a M2C from them. They honored their end of the deal and I’ll be a client forever

Deposit 7/2/20, took delivery 12/14/20 - 154 days.
Got lucky when the dealer received a 2nd allocation.

I would have voted no deposit but that wasn’t an option (hard to believe for California market, right?

Ordered Sept 12th, car arrived Dec 9th

No deposit and I was able to custom spec

Do I feel damn lucky? Heck yes... hearing some of the other California buyers stories with adm, etc

Didn't even think of that, but I think the <6 months captures that ok.

I couldn't have dealt with the stress of going that route, even though in hindsight it MIGHT have been reasonably manageable . But I'm really glad I did it with my dealer and sales guy, and my early order got them a second allocation which is great for them and their business as well.

The only real “stress” was thinking that it seemed too good to be true. Reading other members stories about how the car showed up and then the dealer started playing games with ADM, changing financing percent, etc

It took me a few days after taking delivery to realize that I had not been dreaming and that I really had been able to purchase with zero issues/problems/deposit/adm

If only everyone else could have had such a similar experience.....

Deposit May 21st 2019, Ordered Sept 10th 2020, Delivered Dec 14th 2020

The deposit was for either a CS or CSL. If both were being made then CSL would take precedence.

The owners who were putting down deposits years in advance must have been flipping out when these cars were rumored to be MSRP over $100k US as we got closer to launch

3 days, our son was picking up some parts for his E46 M3, text me a pic. I had not had this car on the radar, in any way. Had an F80 M3 and was on the logical path for a G80, but not really liking its direction. The CS has joined our collection and the F80 was traded in.

Especially when we believed it should only be $75k. The military folks paid the right price for this car. Most everyone else had to pay a premium to play.

I think anyone that buys a CS in the U.S got a great deal no matter how you look at it, this is in comparison to the rest of the world. 80-85k USD gets you a m2 competition over here.

The price of the M2 CS in AU is $160,000 AUD so approx 120,000 USD.

Dec 17 - started learning more about the M2CS after ignoring all news about it for years.
Dec 23 - got a trade offer on my M4 I could not refuse and a discount on the M2CS so I took it

Car is due at NJ port on 1/30 and hopefully delivered the following week.

I'm a lucky bastard who found my exact spec available at the port. Expecting 5 weeks from order fee to delivery.

I read about the intention to build a CS variant in CAR magazine's first review of the OG M2 in March 2016. I took delivery of my OG M2 in April 2016 and placed a deposit for the CS in November 2016, finally taking delivery in August 2020.

I knew about the car prior to launch on nov 2019, found one dealer in early spring to get a deposit down for an allocation, then I found a backup in case it was taken, and eventually a third dealer for allocation. The first two didn't work out, the third one was an intro to a dealer in NE with whom a member works at that gave me the heads up!
