One other question here, can someone comment on the Chris Harris theory in Top Gear that all the horsepower gains over the M2C are related to the exhaust? My fear is that we're somehow negating horsepower gains by doing this muffler swap. In theory this makes no sense though.

As requested, some more pictures from different distances and different heights to show how the MPE looks.
Excuse the dirty cars, snow and temps have been insane! Def not as well hidden as the F80 muffler, but still improves the udder look quite a bit. |

The one thing that surprised me when I did that at the end of 6 years ownership was how much better the original exhaust box and tips sounded when back on the car. It was my first experience of the exhaust 'curing' over time. I'm not sure if that's a real thing or all in the perception? I do remember however the looks the F80 owners all gave each other when a F80 first started up at the BMW performance driving centre (we weren't high fiving each other). So something had changed over time. |

So in the end, is there any difference between the MPE that we now know will fit the CS and the MPE for the Comp? Frustrating that some of the dealerships are saying it’s not available (including here in Canada). So are we left with just getting them to order one as if it’s for the Competition? However supposedly the MPE for the CS now includes the CF tips.

So wait the M2 CS version should include the carbon tips as well, whereas the M2C and oG M2 versions didn't? Is there any difference between M2C and M2 CS versions?

I have 2020 m2c with the MPE with AA single mid pipe and sounds great.. MPE Alone was very noticeable and think sounds much better than AKRA. In addition I also really like the mperformance on the muffler.. lastly I think anytime you can add BMW Derived performance parts is worth it in the long run for warranty / resale etc.

I'll put my money on there being no "CS version". Its the M2C MPE in which case you can order the muffler, the tips separately (cf, black chrome or titanium), OR you can order the MPE muffler with CF tip option

That said the Ti tips from the M3 will fit as per some forum members. Sounds great! That's with the AA mid? |

This was from the summer and got a little mod crazy since. M763 wheels, AA mid pipe, M perf coil overs Dinan perf flash tune (one with the matching warranty) adds approx 60 hp and 50 + ft lb trq.. so power / trq more m4 cs level. So takes a great car up a few notches ..

Damn you guys are killing me.
My car is 4 days away from arriving to the port and I thought I was done. Biggest reason I want the MPE is to get rid of the diaper look of the stock exhaust plus the polished muffler wraps it up nicely. I had stainless steel MPE on a 340i and it had annoyingly more pops and burbles than my stock ZCP F80 which I thought sounded fine. Will the polished titanium stay polished over time? Does the MPE add a crap ton more pops and burbles? Dang.... $6310... would only consider it for port install while I can. |

Worst case - you don't like it at all, buy a stock exhaust for 1k, and sell the MPE. You would probably end up losing about 2k in that scenario. Slightly cheaper alternative - if you can DIY or have a trusted dealer/installer, could easily wait to get the car and then decide if you want to change it up. |

i dont think it adds much more as far as pops and crackles .. just much improved sound, In addition you can manage by going the different modes as efficient / sport is noticeably different than sports plus
