Port installed. Saved a little in labor cost, didn't want to deal with selling the stock exhaust, and wanted the 4 yr warranty.
My M3 MPE was just replaced with V2 at year 3 and was glad to have that extended OE warranty.
This is an awesome development. How much was it as a port installed option? Is this the exact same MPE on the M2C and other S55?

That definitely seems like it sounds better than the hunk of trash that comes on the back of the car from the factory.

Can you confirm the part numbers used on the install? Are they the same as the ones I shared on the invoice from South African dealer?

This is great news indeed. I'm going to buy one as soon as you confirm the parts numbers 🤙🏻

Cellphone's definitely a horrible way to demo sound of this, but it sounds much better than the comp exhaust. I haven't heard a CS exhaust in person but based on feedback from forum members and videos, decided to take the plunge.

Current cost for port install is $6310 MSRP (6110 + 200 labor) before any discount. This is a $85 price increase from last year.

Important to note for anyone ordering - this is now one part which combines the exhaust and tips. The one for the Comp showed up as OZA4 for exhaust and OZ6M for tips.

Part number
Short answer - I don't know, sorry
Long answer - port install only shows up as a code on the build sheet. The code is OZA4.
However BMW uses the same code for M3/M4 (part number is 18302349921) and for M2 Comp (part number is 18302345928 - this is what's shown on that parts sheet you have a picture of)

If you are sure that parts sheet was for a CS VIN, then you should be fine.
Alternatively, if someone knows where the part number is etched on the MPE, I can try and crawl under the car and take a look.

oh wow!!!! Thats awesome to hear that MPE is a very viable route for the CS. I wonder if ever a comparison audio could be recorded.

Absolutely is an option. Sucks that so many incompetent dealers have spread this hoax that MPE won't work on the CS.

A few members have suggested a tri-state meetup, more than happy to do a side by side comparison video during that.

I think "hunk of trash" is exaggeration. However, that's your opinion and I respect that. I have noticed my exhaust getting louder after 1000 miles. I have yet to do my 1200 mile break in service. I can tell you the car sounds infinitely better outside of the car than inside. I don't need the fake inside sound.

The MPE muffler is aesthetically also ways better than the low-hanging massive muffler on M2C and M2 CS.

Maybe f80_MG can show us a couple of rear end shots to illustrate that.

Thanks for sharing this. Out of interest is the MPE for the CS titanium? The carbon tips looks beautiful.

This is what I'm finding as well - it's sounding better as it 'cures'. The outside sound is great IMO. Inside not so much. I'm worried that all the effort in a new exhaust may translate to no difference inside the car - in which case, why bother?

I like to leave it stock, balls and all, looking. I think my cheaper sound improvement option will be AA ELMids.

Yes the MPE is titanium. Here's a before and after on my M2C... big improvement in looks, bigger improvement in sound.

Your original muffler is hanging slightly crooked, which is something that I feel is happening on my CS also.

Shop around from a forum vendor. It's about 20 to 25% less.

Not for the people that are getting it port installed.

Sure thing, we have a few miserably cold snowy days but will do pictures and sound after that (both free revving and under load).

Aesthetically it's night and day from the udder, and the muffler looks even better once it cures and gets that bluish tint after a few thousand miles.

Only the muffler is titanium, not the midpipe.

I like the carbon tips but debating if I want to do titanium tips with the silver M2 CS badge or keep the CF tips and go black badge.

Inside is MUCH louder (all windows up), even at idle in comfort. Sport plus is an entirely other story, I giggle like a child hearing it on the inside. With ASD off all the sound comes from the rear, becomes a little more "surround" with ASD on, but does not sound fake like the earlier F80 ASD cabin sound.

Yes, MSRP. You can negotiate a 5-10% discount at port and ~20% if picking up from a dealer and installing yourself or another shop.
Install time is only about an hour.

I may be wrong, but isnt the MPE notorious for cracking?

Why spend this much for that system when Akra is about the same and doesn't break?

Please pardon the ignorance if I'm incorrect here

As far as I know there were some issues with the MPE for the early M3/4's. A new version was released. I don't know of any cracking issues after that.

Just beware of 'yellowing'/'bronzing' of titanium tips. I recall that some referred to that phenomenon with the 1M Akrapovič titanium tips (see for example here and here).

V2's don't have the cracking issue as others said. More than that, exhaust sound is very subjective, I don't like the sound of the Akra so despite it being all titanium and probably lighter than the MPE, it's not something I would buy.
Others love the Akra and would not buy the MPE even if it was half the cost.

Thanks Artemis , interesting point. I like the discoloration in the muffler, but hadn't thought about the tips. Have ceramic coated them to prevent some level of soot deposition, but doubt it would prevent that discoloration.
Do you know if this is covered under warranty or just considered 'normal use'?
