I started a few waitlists for an M2 CS or CSL back when there were just pre-rumor "cleaning lady whispers" in 2015. Not prescient, just hopeful.

Ah yeah, the legendary "Putzfrau" (cleaning lady) at the Nürburgring fuel station who allegedly knows all the scoops.

For those who don't know: on German car forums exists the practical joke regarding wild rumors about upcoming cars: "It's true, the Nürburgring fuel station cleaning lady told me !".

I honestly didn't have a clue about the M2 CS...in mid December 2020 I still had an order in for a C8 Corvette. Just happened to talk to a salesman about the middle of the month, and he mentioned they had a M2 CS arriving soon that the buyer had to back out on. After a week or so of thinking about it, I went to the dealer and paid for it on December 31st. It arrived at the dealer on January 5th, and I took delivery that day.

I think anyone that buys a CS in the U.S got a great deal no matter how you look at it, this is in comparison to the rest of the world. 80-85k USD gets you a m2 competition over here.

The price of the M2 CS in AU is $160,000 AUD so approx 120,000 USD.
With my spec (MB, 6MT, CCB, CUP3, GLD763) if registered in Victoria, it would have cost $182k

I'm pretty surprised at the number of <6 month buys, but that's great for people able to jump on the car when they see it!
