M2 CS Square setup Wheel Choice???

Hi All,

Anyone have it running on 265/35/19 square setup yet?
What kind of wheels do you guys have?

I ran out of 1 left front tire at Willow Springs already in 2 session. Michelin Super Sport.....it really disappointment to me.

The super sport may chunk like that if you don't warm it up. It needs at least 1-2 laps before you push it. I use MPSC2 and Hoosiers on my GT3, but I have not tracked my CS. What is your alignment ? Looks like you need more camber.

PSS aren't track tires. They are daily summers. You can use them on the track, but if you aren't careful you'll just blow through them.

Wow, those tyres hate you! I did notice the 1st place on your roof, so they obviously did the job

Yes this is stock stock now. No idea what's the factory setting but looks like it's not a good setup.

Is it me, or is your CS poking its tongue out? Perhaps pleased with your award winning performance on track!?

Great to see you using the CS on track! I can't wait to do the same.

As others have said running PSS on track is futile. You also need camber plates to avoid that issue. You can go square but you leave a little on the table in the grip department considering that the rear of the car has more room for extra rubber. Understeer can be reduced by a square setup but that's one of many ways to tune handling. Tire pressure, shock settings, alignment settings, sway bars, ride height, etc, etc, all influence handling.

All that being said, the square spec that will fit depends on whether you are going to adjust the alignment settings - camber will open up your options.

I was at the track last weekend with a stock class time trial guy who was running 275 35/19 on the front of his M2C with some inconsequential rubbing. He had 305's out back, but it does suggest a 275 square set-up could fit. I run a 275/35/18 square setup on my 1M, and it is very balanced, although also with proper alignment. (-2.7f/-2.2r)

Has anyone put on camber plates and determined a preferable from camber setting for the CS yet, or is the assumption same front camber as whatever the Comp guys have settled on (which is??).

-2 to -2.5 if shooting for a street/track dual purpose setup without pushing for fastest lap times. You will wear the outer edge of the tire if you are pushing it on track.

-3 to -3.5 if shooting for fastest lap times and don't care about premature inner tire wear on street.

Zero toe in front if you want to preserve your tire life as toe is harder on tires than camber.
