Anyone else notice how much lower you can position the seats in an M4 comp vs an m2 comp?

I've always felt like I sat a little higher in the m2 and chalked it down to a bmw thing (this is my first bimmer), but I drove an m4 comp and could position the seats much lower.

Is this issue just relegated to the m2/m2 comp?

Its all 2 series. My M235i had the same problem, at least I think it is. I'm slightly taller than average and its all in my torso. I would smack my head on the sun roof cutout of my 235 when I hustled it on back roads. It also puts the the mirror in my field of view on certain right hand turns.
I still can't sit straight up and down with a helmet on in my M2C. I don't know why its that way, the passenger seat can be adjusted lower.

I have two personal complaints with the M2: The steering feel and the seating position. Way too damn high.

Would you run out of leg room if you swapped in lower seats?

Don't think so. There's a ton of room in the m2.

Glad to see I am not the only one seen this. My friend M4 even though has lower roofline, the seat sits way lower than my m2 comp. I have to imagine it's a platform thing, since the comp is using the same seat as the M4.

Can anyone chime in if I can lower the seat a lot by going full bucket? Or it's just the floor sits higher in general?

It's by design...and I kind of like it. I prefer to sit upright with a good view. I lounge when I get home in front of the TV.

I don't mind it either. Maybe I'm just getting old and don't like having to get out of real low cars any more.

A guess is the 2 series was designed to be a higher seating position than the 4 series given its shorter more upright styling. The question, is it the floor design or the seat rails that make it taller, being the same basic seat?

How does it compare to the M3 I wonder?

Yeah I’m just old and creaky. There’s no difference between the 3 and 4 if I recall correctly and they're both lower-feeling than the 2.

It's all so relative.
My M2C is like stadium seating compared to my Lambo (which I sometimes have to lift my leg with my hand to get into).
However, after driving my truck my M2C feels like a little go kart.
At 6"1' I have no problem with the M2C wearing a helmet. It's a very comfortable sporty daily driver / weekend track toy.

Do you have issues with the headrest when wearing a helmet?

I have to lean the seat back to keep my helmet from contacting the headrest as it would otherwise force my head farther forward.

I do keep it leaned back a bit I guess. Doesn't seem awkward but I'm sure it's different for every one.
