Thanks for the information. I hope that take U.S higher priority than Canada . Lol, just joking
Parts start arriving (not shipped) on May 27th is what I heard.

My dealer told me late May early June. So I think parts for the US have already been shipped( I could be wrong). That also means US markets first then Canada market...?
I don't understand how Chicago area dealers don't know, but everyone else's seems to. Do they have proof or are they just saying that to assuage your concerns

Why do you assume that Chicago dealers don't know? I got exact information from a Chicago dealer about a week ago. I'm starting to think they don't want to tell some people who are being too much of a pain in the behind about it. What more information do you need? There have been several people on here saying the cars will be fixed end of May, early June. How many more times do you need to hear the same information? Some dealers are fine giving you an educated estimate, others would rather not make that claim and just wait because they know if they tell you one date and that goes by you will be calling them and going on websites such as this to whine about it.

My dealer has not given me any information at all, so calm down. It's also their job to provide information and answer questions that the customer may have.

The only information I've heard is rumors here and what I heard from BMWNA when they canceled my delivery.

You would do well to open your eyes first before your mouth next time.

To be fair, my dealer who knows I'm not happy, has told me to expect the car in July/Aug knowing darn will I'll most likely cancel if that turns out to be true. They have every incentive to try tell disclose earlier possible dates and have told they have no ETA or resolution from BMW.

Maybe your dealer is being conservative? Since they have no control at all in this type of situations, and they are the middle man between us and BMW, I understand why they are unwilling to give out anything or date just to protect themselves.

Thank you! And where in MyBMW did you find this?

I hope this confirms the end of May time frame for fixes.

Ah, since my car hasn't been delivered yet, there is no "view profile" yet.

In any event - this is a positive sign....

Got a call today for 2 open recalls from Bill Jacobs BMW in IL - tail light bracket and owner's manual. No mention of airbag. I told them the tail light bracket one is wrong (according to BMW's site via VIN search), but I do have to pick up a new owner's manual in a week or two.

Yeah, I'm going to sit tight until after Memorial Day and then start pestering for information again. I actually got to put almost 200 miles on my "loaner" car last weekend, which definitely took the edge off. I'm going to need another fix soon though...

How were you able to get a loaner car?

Interestingly, I just checked the same site for my M2C, and it shows 'Remedy Unavailable', updated May 21, 2019.

Selecting the download button provided a three page PDF regarding the recall letter, which hasn't been sent out yet per the PDF. The letter does state that both driver and passenger knee air bags will be replaced, and that the repair will take approximately one hour.

I found this rather interesting - check out the date:

Q8. How will I be informed of this Safety Recall?
You will receive a letter in July via First Class mail advising you of this Safety Recall. Depending upon parts availability, this letter may request you to schedule an appointment with an authorized BMW center to have this Safety Recall performed. In cases where parts are not immediately available, you will receive a second letter when parts become available, advising you to schedule an appointment with an authorized BMW center at that time to have this Safety Recall performed. You can locate your nearest authorized BMW center at www.bmwusa.com/dealers.

2,747 M2 impacted in US

The PDF also included the volume of each model impacted .... M2 volume is 2,747 units in the US, with a total of 11,764 BMWs impacted in the US.

It does say "potentially affected" and the numbers actually look like total cars produced and not actually affected. Especially since most of the affected cars appear to have been produced in March 2019.

BMWCompact - do you already have your M2 or are you like the rest of us and are waiting to take delivery? I believe for those who already took delivery and have had their cars for sometime, the recall notice and fixes will happen later in the summer - July when more supply is available. My hunch (and hope) is that for cars sitting on the lots and at VPC will get earlier priorities as they need to be sold for business purposes.
