What to do with scraped front bumper?
Hi all, pulled out of a steep parking lot too fast today and got some damage on the bottom of my front bumper.
Google Photos Album with all pictures: https://photos.app.goo.gl/VP61QRMjevk2n8Z89 It's only visible if you look under the car, so I'm not too worried about cosmetics. But wondering if I should be worried about any lasting damage, rust, corrosion, that kind of stuff? Is there a need to get this fixed? I'm pretty sure this won't be the last time I scrape the front bumper so I'm tempted to just leave it. The car has some PPF on it, but it looks like the damage got through that in most areas. Thanks for the help! Sorry some of the pictures are rotated weird below, checkout the google photos album above. |

If the damage is fully on the underside of the bumper, I just leave it. Out of sight, out of mind!
For the visible stuff, I’ve found that paint correction shops can work magic for a much lower cost than full-on auto body shops. And, if the damage is just to clear coat, they can often make the damage completely disappear. I’d guess that the damaged PPF would add some complexity/cost, but I’m not sure. |

I just did this same thing to my i4! Definitely a gut punch and I know to be more careful now, but at least it's on the underside. If it won't rust (which it sounds like it won't since it's plastic), I'll just try to ignore it. They need to design curbs with better angles for low cars!
