For me, it's the size, and the way the chassis feels like my former ZCP E90. I had gone to the dealership with the intention of getting an M3, drove the M2C because it was there, and that was all she wrote. It was a very different feel from the bigger car.

What's odd is that over my lifetime I've had many exciting cars (far more expensive and capable) yet the satisfaction this car brings my senses is not only comparable but for the price difference quite the bargain.
In a way it reminds me of my 1M but dare I say better...

I'm convinced that one of the most overlooked but massively important, charming key attributes of this car is the electronic differential. The diff on the M2, but all M products for the most part, is magical. The diff converses with you as a driver and you feel rotation unlike many other cars of such considerable weight. The e-diff, for me at least, makes MDM obsolete. The diff tuning is transparent in that I feel informed and trusting at all times. The e-diff is one of the features of the M2 that helps it "hide" its weight. On square wheels and tires, you get to enjoy the diff even more, due to increased rotation propensity. I want this e-diff in all my cars.

It's a grin machine! So much fun to drive and it's pretty sexy looking too.
Can be as tame as you want or it'll become a little beastie with a few button pushes. It's manners on the track are excellent too - it reacts to input beautifully and feeds back just as well.

I just sold my E46 M3 and I only did it solely because I found a M2 Competition to me that was a modern version in spirit and in physical form. They are literally a few centimetres different in all dimensions but with so much more power, modern conveniences, better braking and more grip.

The M2C feels a lot like both of those cars (to me anyway) and I doubt very much we'll ever see another...

I really wonder about this. A few weeks ago, I tried an M4 GTS with Cup2's and loved it.
I have no idea what made such a big difference in even steering weight. Software? Tires? Suspension? The GTS steering was quite a bit more immediate off center. General answer to the original question is that the M2C is so playful, doesn't matter what speed.

They came with my 763s but I will probably get them again when the time comes.

I've been daily driving mine for a couple of weeks because my normal driver had a failure and I had to order parts. With the tune, the tail is a bit more "wiggly" than before, and you can really feel the magic of the "M" differential in the way this thing will tighten the line in a power-on corner exit. It's blissful!

Something else about this car. Relatively speaking, I've noticed the M2C lacks internet presence and is just, overall, quite ubiquitous, even in the real world. Even when I went to sign for it almost 3 years ago, I remember seeing it on the sales floor, tucked away in an empty section by itself, like the last puppy in the kennel that no one wanted.
Joke's on them, this is probably one of the best cars to ever come out of Munich. It's like BMW's best kept secret! |

No, it was off in the corner like that supermodel that none of the other girls want to stand near because it makes them look ugly - those poor saps at the dealership still have to try to move the homely M3/4's.
