F87 M2 Trade-in Value

I keep hearing how well these cars hold their value, but I'd really love to hear from someone who recently traded theirs in or was given an offer.

Could you list

- year
- mileage
- packages

I think that might be helpful as a cross-reference.

Go on carfax dot com, put in your specs with unlimited range *poof* see everyone you’re up against. That’s what I do at least.

I've gone into 3 dealers around my area to see my trade value for the 2018 M2 with 36k miles, no sunroof. They've offered me the wholesale price they have which is 33 - 35k. I'm deciding to sell private party or part out most of the items on my m2 and sell private still for around 42 - 45k.

Nope, carfax. It seems like any car being sold with a carfax shows up there.

High 40s for mine. M2C, 6MT, Exec and LBB

Looks to me like they've dropped in value. I see most of them are going on Autotrader for mid 50s.

I’m actually in the market to get out of my M2 (need something a bit more versatile) and all of the dealerships I’ve visited have offered me $32K for my ‘16, DCT, 65K miles. Many tried to lowball me ($25-27K) before upping their offer with the exception of one that offered $24K, final offer.
Problem is not many want to buy from a private owner. One of the dealers told me that he was trying to sell his ‘19 privately and went from $54K down to $46K with no luck. Ended up trading it in and they sold it within three days for $53K.

The problem is the large percentage of people buying currently are going to Stealerships.

The reason people aren’t buying right now is the interest rates are absolutely fucking ridiculous.

KBB just priced my 2018 M2 DCT with 19,000 miles at $45,000 for trade in.

Yeah, I don't think we can go by KBB right now. It's also saying $43k for my car. I paid $54k for it 6 years ago.

I highly doubt anyone will offer me $43k for a trade. But ultimately, I don't know, which is why I started this thread.

Go here and it will gather offers from all the major players at once:

https://caredge.com/what-is-my-car-worth

I’ll warn you, dealers don’t really want cars right now.

Highly depends on the actual car and the dealer

BMW dealerships have to take your car on trade if they actually want to make a much needed car-deal

I’ve been looking at the new M2 but I’m not pressed to buy one.

I think right now the interest rates are so shitty It’s unattractive for anyone to want to buy anything right now.

There are FIVE nice M2’s same model year as mine local to me right now, and all seven of them are sitting and the pricing is great. They all book out just fine
It’s just nobody’s buying.

Same thing on OfferUp nobody’s buying.

Housing prices are the highes they’ve been in 23 years... ❕

Definitely some stiff times ahead. I think we’re going to see some industries crash.

The car industry is in for a rude awakening the writing is on the wall.

If I buy a new M2, it’s gonna be below MSRP trust me.

2018 M2 MGM… 25k
Executive Pack
Apple CarPlay
Moonroof
M-DCT

I was offered 40k 1 month ago on trade…

They said they would’ve offered me 38k but the condition of my car is above average so they offered me more.

I am in Australia, and here its a similar story - not as many buyers as there was a year ago.
For my 2018 comp base with sunroof and 44miles (78km) I was offered $USD43k ($68Au).

Selling a beautifully sculptured work of art for an overpriced brick of clay needs to be thoroughly thought out...
