I've ordered my last two sets of tires from Costco and just pick them up from the store and refund the installation+disposal fee.
Luckily my cousin has a mount and balance machine so does it for me. I know he'll take much better care not to scratch the wheels than any other shop, plus he does it for cheaper. I miss out on the warranty Costco provides though.

I wonder how the MPSS with BMW Star rating would be in 255/35 275/35. I took a drive through the the canyons yesterday with my stock MPSS tires. At the limit they are so smooth balanced and predictable. The whole experience was just perfect. I'd like more grip but I don't want to give up that smooth predictably at the limit. How are the MPS4S tires at the limit? Some have said that in dry warm weather the MPSS are better. Thoughts? |

But here's what I can say: especially once up to temp, DSC nannies are quieter than ever (especially when accelerating out of hairpins) and the set gets you a fraction more grip. Turn-in improved, but for sure the credit for that mainly belongs to 763M (reduced unsprung weight / rotational mass). As regards technical control of vehicles: upscaling from 245/265 to 255/275 stays within the 'tolerances' band, and, hence, gets a pass over here. In my book (city + highway + mountain driving), 255/275 PS4S + 763M wins. End of a sweet pre-breakfast stint on the Stelvio Pass (Italy), allowing the tires and brakes to do their job (tire pressure when firing up the engine around 6am: 2.5/2.6 bar):

I usually run the canyons in MDM so there's plenty of drift sliding going on. That is the critical part that I want to preserve. The car slides so perfectly in control.
Edit: Ok, I watched the video. It seems that his conclusion answers exactly the question I was asking. I guess all things considered giving up a minute edge at the limit is probably worth the other benefits if the MPS4S. Thanks. Last edited by AlpsRider; 02-09-2020 at 12:30 PM.. |

So 275/30 and 295/30 are the closest if not same ratio as stock 245/265? Per the chart above. I definitely have to size up to put the power down, now the question is which size lol? Have been debating this for months, they will need to be replaced in few months. My car is tuned with stock suspension and wheels.

That's for PS4S tyres. Trofeo R tyre runs wider so not sure if that size will fit I wanted to run 285/30 19 at the back but no size on PS4S so might have to go 295/30 19. I am concerned about rubbing under max compression cause the offset of my rear wheels is 6mm more aggressive than stock. |

Just ordered some Michelin PS4S in 255/35 + 275/35. Stock everything drivetrain wise.
Pumped to see how they look/perform compared to my bald Conti's. |

Anyone having issues with TMS? I am getting different readings vs analog monitor. I running 34PSI for all 4, but it's reading 31, 33, 37. I am on 255/275 PS4S which are about a month old

Mine was off after first install. Had to reset TMPS then it was fine. Same tires and size.

They're much quieter and softer ride compared to the stock, bald Conti's. Haven't gotten on the car that much though, want to wear in the tires a bit.

Swapped from 255/275 PS4S back to my old OEM 245/265 PSS because the PS4S gripped too well (first world problems, I know). On stock power currently. The smaller PSS has a good balance of grip and slip when you want it compared to the PS4S. The PSS has a "sweet spot" that allows for the rear end to get playful under heavy throttle and allows for more controllable slides if you're into that. The PS4S while being a better overall tire in every way just gripped way too good and took away that "fun factor". It was hard breaking loose the rear end and I feel that it didn't communicate the slip as well as the PSS when it would finally break loose. Will look into swapping back to the PS4S when I increase the power probably.

PSS is so predictable at low and high speed when you lose grip, while you could actually go faster in PS4S I wouldn't be suprised if the PSS felt faster as it lost traction just that little bit. Like you I am on stock power, which sometimes I feel is right, then sometimes I want more because, more is more |

I wonder if I'd be able to go 255/275 with my ride height without rubbing.

Can someone who has done it please confirm.
I had a service on mine yesterday and all four tyres have worn on the inside edge so need replacing. Standard M2C wheels, do I put 265 35's and 285 35's or 265 35 and 285 30's. Thanks |

265/35 will probably rub in the fronts.. Honestly 255/35 fronts and 275/35 rears PS4S is a solid choice if you want to retain 35 side wall. Otherwise, if you do 30 sidewall, 265/285 or 265/295 will work too.

Stance looks great. I’m on Long Island—how has the KW suspension been on our area roads? I’ve been bothered by the “jittery,” nervous feeling of the M2C’s stock suspension on bumpy roads. Especially small, closely-spaced surface irregularities. Feels unsettled, like it needs to be more compliant to grip adequately. I hate the feeling.
