18in winter wheels
Hi guys,
So I picked up a slightly used 2018 M2. It came with a set of winter wheels and tire set. The size is 225/45/R18 (Bridgestone Blizzak WS80). They are already mounted on the rims. The reason I ask, because when I look in the user manual, it gives a different size and on tirerack.com I get a different suggestion. The previous owner suggests that he did use them in the winter. But I’m starting to doubt his claim, based on what I’m reading online. Can anyone shed some light on this please. Thanks Last edited by bmw_m2_; 09-08-2019 at 02:09 PM.. Reason: Wrong title |

I would say we need more information. Mainly the size and offset of the front and back wheels. Do you have a square set of 18 inch wheels? The manufacture of the wheels would also help. Not many 18 inch wheels clear the M2’s brake calipers.

They are only .8 inch narrower than the standard M2 snow tire size (225 vs 245) but they are the right diameter so there's no reason they won't work. It's not like the car won't roll on them. What wheels are they?

I thought the standard M2 snow tire size is 235/40-18, as stated in the owner's manual. Where did you find 245?

Sorry, my bad. I forget to mention that they are OEM BMW 18 inch wheels. I don’t know the model number of the wheels. They are ET25. It’s not a staggered set.
Hope this helps? |

Do you know the wheel width? Are they 18X9 or something else. As stated before, most 18 inch wheels do not clear the M2s brake calipers. As an example M235i wheels don’t fit.

Post a photo of the wheels as these maybe off a different BMW....which is no guarantee they will fit over M2 brakes,

I just assumed 245/40/18 was the standard since that comes up on packages at tirerack. If the manual actually states 235/40/18, that makes the 225/45/18 @op has even closer to stock width recommendation.

Here's a photo. I have a feeling that, these might be aftermarket wheels (non OEM), because there is no BMW logo behind them either. I believe they are based on 437m style wheels. I could be wrong, but I'm not sure if BMW offered this style in 18inch, but I could be wrong.

Pretty sure that's not a factory wheel. What makes you doubt the owner's claim that they were used? Easiest way to see if they fit is to put one on the front.

I was doubting it because the previous owner didn't disclose couple of issues with the car. And when I noticed the tire size, I started to wonder. I found the same wheel online and the specs are: Wheel size: 18x8.5 Boltpattern: 5x120 Offset: 35 Hub bore: 72.6 |
