M2C Stability

How stable is an M2C? Is it as stable in a straight line as an M3 at high speeds? Does the shorter chassis affect its stability, does the rear end wiggle in any way or feel like it wants to easily let go unless provoked?

In the 135 / 335 world, the 135 was just about one of the least stable cars that I have ever driven... any thoughts?

65 mph feels like 20 mph in M2C.

Probably the most stable and hardcore modern BMW.

imo, the M2C is totally buttoned down and stable. You could stab the gas, provoke it and hoon if you want to, but that's not my style. The car is awesome.

I've never driven an m3, but a shorter wheelbase does indeed make a car more eager to rotate, like a figure skater pulling in their limbs to do a triple axel.

But, uh the car is fine at highway speeds. How fast are you planning on going? I'd think the m3/m4 would be better at 130 mph corners and stuff where stability trumps all, but I don't think the M2 is unstable in the grand scheme of things.

I've only had the car up to 140. but it seemed very stable and planted.

I'm looking forward to how it feels on coils with a little extra downforce.

155ish on the autobahn yesterday and didn't even notice I hit the limiter until it just wouldn't accelerate anymore. It's the super buttoned up/stable. And when it comes to handling, just did the four Swiss pass loop today, yeah this car is solid.

My M2C feels more stable at speed than my e92 M3 did.

It’s a rock. The steering not twitchy at all at higher speeds.

You can drive(when traffic and laws allow it off course) at 130mph cruising speeds for 'hours' and almost fall asleep

Very stable in a straigh line.

ex 1M not so much >140mph

Cheers

I was at Eastern Creek the other day and I’ve got to say the M2C is one of the best ever cars I have driven. Absolutely zero issues with stability and I am so glad I bought one!

No stability issues at higher speeds. The only time where things feel loose is during turns with generous application of throttle and stability control off. Even then, it’s all fairly predictable.

Even in efficient, you can make the car swing around. Quite entertaining.

Autobahn doesn't count. It's as smooth as glass. Not the same as driving on the roads in the States.

BMW's rebound damping tuning leaves much to be desired.

Disagree. Let me know again where you can go that fast in the states legally? I always forget. I also live in the Bay Area and there are plenty of highways in the US that are similarly smooth as glass, but sure. Even at legal speed limits or within 20 miles above it this car is solid. Test drove the M2C a few times before buying it getting up to ~100 mph on public roads and felt just as solid.

In the states, where you will go close to that fast is on a track, which, are paved pretty damn well. But, sure.

It's your opinion that it sucks, it's mine that it doesn't. Funny how opinions can be different huh? Doesn't mean I'm wrong.

a)Autobahn is NOT always as smooth as glass, on the contrary. Dutch roads and highways are smoother and in general better maintained hate to say it.
But we do have our speed limits, and some parts of the Autobahn don't
b)Agree (rear end)

Cheers

Jealous of everyone that drives the car @ 100% I'm stuck in traffic morning, noon, night and fu***ng midnight traffic (construction) embarrassing just 1.9k miles since April

I hit 80 mph on the pike and I thought that was bad ass (5am no traffic yesterday)

I'm rethinking why I have a 400 hp bimmer here, a f150 to tackle potholes makes more sense

Haven't heard tire squeal, never lost the rear end because I drive around the city it's not practical or safe to have that kind of fun in BOSTON

Do yourself a favor, head out for a drive at the crack of dawn this coming weekend. Streets will be dead, you can thank me later.
