Yes. You can sneak them out with the strut in but it's easier to remove the strut.

exact same as f80, actually pretty easy aside from the plastic rivets..

This is like what I would do, just buy 2 Dinan air filters and just drop them in..

I would not spend 2 grand on a intake for this car when the stock setup looks adequate enough..

I would like to find a way to route more fresh air to under the engine bay because currently there is nothing flow from outside to the air boxes.

Poochie, why not do what I did? The air scoops coming off the filter boxes are pulling air for the intakes from the engine bay. That sucks....At least with my mod all the air is coming from the front grill.....

What you did is ingenious, bravo!

That's the DIY route I would take, as it's the only current viable solution but I was just putting this out there incase someone else had a more elegant suggestion than hacking up the original plumbing.

I replaced the stock filters with BMC and removed charcoals in my F80 and got CEL. Anyone have this issue when removing the charcoal filters?

I left the stock filters in and only removed the charcoal filters.

I did the exact same Mod on my 2020 M2C and have absolutely no issues. Love the Deeper induction noise and Turbo Spool. Seemed to work like a charm.

What I rarely see compared is how well each of these filters actually filter. If I remember correctly only Jim Conforti did a comparison like that when he was selling foam filters.

Yes, the K&N is used on race cars (sponsors) but race engines are also torn down, magnafluxed and rebuilt.

Think about it this way. Which filter would you rather use in your HVAC? The one that filters the dust and pollen or the one that lets the HVAC "perform" better?

EDIT: I didn't find the original article but did find this one. BTW, I'm NOT advocating the use of foam filters. They have the same issues but possible to a lesser extent dependent on their efficiency.

https://www.bimmerforums.com/forum/s...onforti-vs-All

Think about it this way, if you want a complete protection from outside debri(where dust is very big, there are far smaller contaminent) you will need a hepa filter and thats just no good for boost.

You can use HEPA on your HVAC but what happends to the voltage to the motor of the fan? Pressure increse so higher RPM. And still in my buisness that air is polluted/contaminated.

K&N will do fine. There wont be any debrie in normal conditions that can cause damage. First of there are the turbos, and then there is the ignition of fuel.

Just check the size of diesel particles on internet and check your cabin filter - and then start counting on how much disel particles you breath in. Or, just gets absorbed by your skin.

Edit: Also filters and boxes must follow emission and sound regulations where sound is the main goal of filterboxes (for example some engines have resonators on the intake side to keep intake noise down, rb26dett).

I definitely wouldn't drop $2000 on the Eventuri, but adding some carbon bling to the bay would be nice. Someone makes a full carbon intake kit for like $600 or so, doesn't quite as "Elite" as the Eventuri, but still nice.
