Vorsteiner V-FF 106 Tire Recommendations

I'm looking for some advice for tires being that this is my first set of custom wheels, there has been a learning curve.

Goals: Most likely will never track the car, but still looking for performance tires on the street, live in CA so don't mind summer tires year round. I also want the wheels/tires to look flush! Car is currently on stock suspension with no plans to change.

Wheels:

9.5" x 19" ET22
10.5" x 19" ET34

I contacted Vorsteiner and their recommendation for tires was:

245/30/19 Front
285/30/19 Rear

I've seen a post with the V-FF 106's from Vorsteiner and their stated tires sizes were:

245/35/19
285/30/19

The problem is that there aren't a lot of 285/30/19 options (and almost no options for the 245/30/19 - so I am going to ignore that recommendation and go with 245/35/19). The most obvious choice for me based on my goals is the Michelin Pilot 4S, however, you are limited to sizes of:

275/30/19
295/30/19

Is one a better pick over the other?

The Extreme Contacts come in 285/30/19 and so do the Firestone Indy 500's, both less expensive and well rated, but that about sums it up for what I think I want.

Anyone running these found a good combo?

Personally I wouldn't run 245/285... wouldn't you get more understeer than there is already?

I'm running 255/275 4S's and the handling is balanced, with a hint of oversteer at the limit (granted this is after I installed my front lip). So I'd think keeping it around the stock stagger difference would be ideal.

275/295 seems pretty aggressive - I'd be worried about rubbing without cambers plates.

Thanks for the feedback. I was looking at increasing the width of fronts due to the same reason that you pointed out.

In reference to the 275/295 - What I meant was there wasn't a 285/30/19 option with the Michelin 4S - Only 275/30/19 or 295/30/19 and was looking to see what the better option of the two would be when paired with 255's in the front.

I almost pulled the trigger on 255/30/19 and 275/30/19 Pilot 4S's today and I think that's where I am going to end up unless someone has a compelling reason against it. There's also a discount on Pilot 4S's via TireRack.com

I have vff103 with the stock Michelin tires (245/265) and they fit fine and have a little stretch which looks good in my opinion.

I also have vff108 with re-71 255/275 in 35 profile which are to big for the rear 34mm offset in my opinion.

In stock suspension mode you will still be fine and shouldn't rub.

I am lowered on dinan HAS with front camber plates. Im running around 2.2-2.5 camber front and rear. I rub in the back under heavy compression on the 275/35 no matter what I do.

Unfortunately with these offsets the wheels stick out beyond the fender and since the adjustment for camber is on the bottom of the suspension instead of the top, they still stick out.

275/35 is the max you can go on 34mm offset I feel.

If you live in Bay area you can check my setup out if you want.

Greatly appreciate the feedback. I just pulled the trigger on the 255/35/19 and 275/35/19 Michelin Pilot 4S and am having them installed tomorrow. Glad I didn't try to go bigger!

Thanks,
Mark

Update: Had the 255/35/19's and 275/35/19's Michelin Pilot Sport 4S installed. Looks great! Grip is awesome on these tires...nice upgrade and the wheels look great. I'll try and get some pictures posted up.

Great you are enjoying them.

Alltough with that those ET numbers and those tyres there`s not much room for lowering, am i correct? If you dont want to lower, then no problem.

I have 245/35 and 275/35, rear is 10,5 ET 40 and there`s quite little room in the rear.
Will swap to 265 after these are done, they also look alot better on 10,5" wheel imo.
