I had just picked up a Poké bowl for lunch and was making my way out of the parking lot. M2C, sport+, first gear, under 10mph. The valves fully open thanks to my VSC-2. I'm cruising down the lane in 1st gear with the windows down and this pedestrian older lady is shaking her head hard at me and as I roll by she yells "idiot".

I was not speeding or doing anything unsafe. It was such a wierd reaction. Anyone else encounter anything like this?

Had something similar happen last year, just left home heading to work in comfort mode. Came up to a stop sign, was not speeding and made a complete stop. Looked both ways before turning left (turn signal was on) and a lady on the corner yelled "slow down". I was at a loss, my guess is some people see what they want to see. Either that or they're idiots. What bothered me most about it was I wish I had been speeding. If I'm going to be yelled at it might as well be for a good reason.

I drive at crawling speed whenever I see an older person crossing the road. This car(LBB) looks fast and sounds crazy from outside the car even when it's going 2mph. To them it appears the car is approaching 100mph towards them because they associate sound and looks of the car with speed.

It's the exhaust noise, most people don't appreciate being startled by loud sounds..

And before you think I'm singling out BMWs, I own one and is well aware of how annoying can be to others, especially when living in houses that are in close proximity to each other.

It doesn't matter which kind vehicle it is; a rambunctious noise from a douchy, inconsiderate driver doesn't discriminate.

I've also gotten dirty looks when driving through my neighborhood in my GT4. Stock exhaust, but clearly louder than the average Camry. I also drive very slowly and carefully through our residential neighborhood and in town. This is in contrast to others in my neighborhood who routinely drive 60mph on our narrow streets to make their morning train to the city, or who blast around stopped school buses with their flashing stop signs deployed. So here I am, being very cautious and responsible, and I occasionally get looks because the car is a bit louder than expected. If anything, I'm safer by being louder. It's the Mario Andrettis in the dead-silent Teslas who are the real threat.

yeah she prob just hates the crackles and pops and figures you riced your car out to get that.

I find myself mildly annoyed with loud exhausts, loud BOV's, super whiny turbo diesel big stack jacked up trucks, etc.

for her I'd just give her a little ack with a throttle blip
