Titanium Brake Shims 2NH M2C Brakes (M3/M4 CCB)

I posted this in the track section but figured I should probably put it here as well since this is M2C specific.

I found titanium shims for the rear pad shape since it's shared among different manufacturers but nothing for the fronts.

So I am in talks with a company that will make a batch of 5 sets (or more if there is interest) so I need 5 buyers to get it done.

Is anyone interested? The titanium shims should drastically reduce heat transfer between the pad and the caliper pistons (and therefore fluid). Seems like a no brainer.

The rears go for $80 and the fronts $120 including shipping. If I can get 5 people I will email them to make a batch, just need to know if you want Fronts only or fronts and rears.

This is for the 2NH "big" brakes (M2C,M5,X5M) and I think they also fit the CCB M4 calipers..

I thought gold calipers already had titanium pistons, could be wrong.

Awesome, I will email them back to let them know there is at least 5 people of interest. Will report back shortly.

Thanks.

Also - pistons may be titanium - not sure BUT adding the plate will just further decrease the thermal transfer to the fluid.

I asked the guy for a photo of the rears since they already exist. The fronts haven't been produced but basically the difference is the shape and size.
BMW uses a generic rear pad shape and a bespoke front pad shape.

Here is a link to a set for a mustang: https://www.opmustang.com/store/p240...-_Front.html#/

Same guys I emailed to create ours.

Good news, they are going to push forward with a batch for us. To make everything easy they are going to add a page on their site for us to purchase from. I will update you guys once I hear back when the link is ready.

Update: as of 3/11/19 it looks to be about 3-4 weeks out. They will have to match up a test set to oe pad then schedule the sets to get cut.

Nice work!

Progress. These guys have been busy but here is a link to buy the rears in stock now and preorder the fronts.
Once they get the pre orders in they will send the order out for them to get cut.

Link: https://www.opmustang.com/store/c39/..._-_Brakes.html

FROM OPTIMUM:

"I have added the shims, and brake pads as well. Rear shims are in stock, pads are usually 1-2 weeks out depending on how busy G-LOC is, the rears fit several models so they may keep them on the shelf. GS-1 Compounds for the street guys that hate brake dust and noise. G-LOC GS1's are a very high performing street pad. Brake dust wipes off. You can swap directly from the GS-1 to any of their track compounds on the same rotor. Most of our Customers run the GS1 for Daily Driving and swap to an R compound for the track day.

Link to the BMW Section on our website...work in progress. Because people do not like reading I took a picture of the OEM front brake pad with our shim we use on the Mustang GT350 front brake so people can get an idea what it will look like. This IS NOT the shim we are having made for the M2 Comp!

The sooner I know how many people are really interested (Pay for them) the faster they can get scheduled. Let us know if we can do anything else. I will look into other products to see what is available, Obviously we have brake fluids etc. I will check with Goodridge to see if they have Braided lines done for the cars yet."

Let me know if you want me to ask anything else.

Do they ship internationally? I'm located in Hong Kong. How many sets will have do be pre-ordered and paid before they will schedule for production of those sets?

FYI Goodridge have braided lines for the M2C because they are identical to OG M2/M3/M4

Thanks,
Sunny

I'll ask them and let you know.

From Optimum:

We ship pretty much everywhere, we have Mustang Customers in the Philippines/Hong Kong. Usually ships to Asia/Europe DHL, UPS Middle East.

As soon as we see the orders begin to trickle in the sooner we give the go ahead.

Guys,

I really want this to work as I think these shims will really help add to a solid package for the 2NH brakes on the M2 comp (and M4 CCB).

These guys haven't gotten the required 10 minimum orders (I think only one or two people have even ordered so far) and if they can't get the 10 they will have to back out all together. They did a fair amount of work on their end to help me make this happen so hopefully those that mentioned interest will act on it soon.

If anyone in this list is still interested please visit: https://www.opmustang.com/store/c39/..._-_Brakes.html to get your orders in and make this happen!

#COChris - Yes Front+Rear

#GreatWhiteM2 - Yes Front+Rear

#troysico - Yes (front or front+rear)?

#ashtaron14 - Yes Front+Rear

#hansomatic - Maybe Front+Rear

#VTBoss302 - Yes Front+Rear

#joseyu - Maybe for brembo bbk (different shims)

#2PUTT - Yes Front Only

#Project_F87 - Yes Front+Rear

#Proctor750 - Yes Front+Rear

My understanding is that they will probably move on from this if we can't make it happen by the end of the week.
