Speaking of instrument cluster, I was driving pretty aggressively.. and got a quick warning about the tail light mid turn. Wonder if it's to do with the stop recall they had which affected later cars. Maybe my tail light will explode.

I'm not even close to 200 miles a tank. Reminds me of my E92 M3, which also had a stupid 14 gal tank with a V8. The range is really ridiculous.
yeah, i get my reserve warning at 1/4 tank so it's 10 gallon fill ups every 150-160 miles. I don't mind MPG as much as the tiny tank/range.
You avg 150-160 miles per tank? Dang I'm going to freeze to death pumping gas this winter once the car gets here.

This is starting to remind me of my e92 m3.

Honestly I don't even have the car yet but already know the small fuel tank is the only thing that's going to really bother me about this car. Other than that I can't wait for it to arrive.

It's not about fuel consumption or maintenance costs, but it's very annoying to refuel every 300 km or less

You know it’s not actually a 1/4 right? Count the markings. Yes, it’s weird.

Not in the M2C.

Meanwhile i switched to digital speedo instead of oil temp.

I use Bimmerlink to have the exhaust valves open all the time either way so this also tells me the exact oil-, transmission- and motor temp and a few more values I am interested in
How does Bimmerlink show this?

Can you post a pic?
You can have and arrange the gauges to your liking

Will Bimmerlink work on CarPlay?

Not on a regular iphone. But there is a way to make it happen, see my guide here:

The fuel warning is in km remaining not a set tank level. Yes its marked in sixths not quarters!

I think 80km (50mls) is default so it depends how hard you drive. If you get low mpg then the warning comes on earlier of course.

Even if you use imperial units on your dash the coding is stil in metric.

You can adjust it in esys / bimmercode. I reduced mine by a third or so much better.

Gotcha. Well that's a no go for me then. My org's profile for my phone will stop working if I jailbreak.

It’s insane that iDrive doesn’t have a gauge package other than those ridiculous power meter things. I would be willing to pay for it as I expect many others would.

Mine always comes on at exactly 1/6, which is 90km. Maybe it’s just co-incidence. Always seems to happen at the most inappropriate time with a loud chime that makes me jump and go WTF.

Yep!

Always at 50 miles to go here in the States, same as my 235M.

Filled up yesterday got 23.8 on my last tank, best I've seen. I'm at 4000 miles now. That's from a combination of Sport and comfort and 1/2 highway driving (damn rush hour traffic so don't get to exercise it much during the week).

Two phones is such an inconvenience in my daily life, and I don't do anything on my phone I'm concerned about, so I just deal. But I work with many who feel the same as you.

As long as the emotions are "correct" 😂👍🏼

There is an old saying in the german speaking area and it goes like this:

"Who buys a plane should not be worried about the kerosene prices"

...and of course there is some truth to it 🙂
