Is the hardware the same though ?

Does F87 S55 have primary and secondary cats as per all other F8x ?

We know Euro F87 s55 has OPF in midpipes which I believe is not the case with all other F8x s55.

Stg 1 might be OK unilaterally for all F87 s55's but does anyone know yet whether or not Euro F87 s55 can cope with a generic, OTS F8x s55 stg 2 tune ????

EU spec M4 has OPF too since June but I was talking strictly about US spec M2C. According to the following thread the S55 in the M2C is same as the one in M3/M4 (turbos, DME etc) —> https://f87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1505285

Where did you read that ?

I ask as there was notghing said in BMW UK news about it and on BMW ETK site, the only references to Eu6 compliance [main reason for OPF filters in midpipe] is on F87 M2C pages only - nothing on other F8x pages......

BMW said it would be on EU spec M3/M4s that are made after Nov 2017 but in fact steel driveshaft replaced the CFRP driveshaft on M4 starting from June 2018. I believe M3 was never affected since the production already ended for EU couple months ago. In other words, any M4 made after June 2018 has steel driveshaft and the particulate filter.

Surprised someone hasn’t put M2C on a dyno. Interested in dynojet numbers.

Sorry - the cynic in me says a link to Bpost thread doesn't cut it, esp when BMW own web based news threads say nothing and bmw ETK makes no demarcation on exhaust parts pre or post Nov 2017.

ETK has different part numbers pre and post June 2018 for the M4 (CF vs steel). As I said, search and you'll find it...

Agreed re torque tube downgrade on m3/4. However, my post above was about challenging an earlier comment about opf on newer F80/2/3 cars exhaust.

There is confirmed new OPF's on EU MY2019 F82/F83. New part number for EU midpipes with the gas particulate filter.

Pre-OPF's
18307851178

Midpipe w/ gas particulate filters
18308095030

Also there is an article stating the EU F8x now are running a boost increase of 0.1bar to compensate for particulate filter. An Euro member on the M4 forum recently posted pics of his steel driveshaft and midpipe.

However, those tire sizes you mentioned aren't wide enough for good traction with a stage 1 tune, just FYI. Stock Non-ZCP M4 has 425HP and a lot of people experience traction issues even on the stock map with 275s in the rear. BM3 now offers torque limiting by gear so you would probably have to cut the torque down significantly on 1st, 2nd and even maybe 3rd gear if you decide go with stage 1 and 275s. I recommend going at least 285 in the rear.
+1 BM3 ftw

We've already begun testing and validation on the new
///M2 Comp and we REALLY like what this model will
be capable of with just a bit more power!

While it shares the same S55 engine as the M3/M4, the
calibration strategy will be notably different in order to
try and preserve the balance which already makes the
more powerful ///M2 special in the first place.

For any Southern California owners who are interested
in participating in validation at our Anaheim facility, we
encourage you to drop us a PM for special incentives
which will include discounted pricing with before and
after dyno results on your choice of our 4WD Mustang
or 2WD DynoJet dynamometer!
