We need to explain tuning and exhaust replacement on the M2C...
Guys, listen up... I am getting bombarded right now with people asking me about the opportunity to tune your car and disable the OPF sensors on European M2C's.
I really feel the need to start making a video explaining the world about OPF delete, ODB tuning being locked and explaining where we stand right now. For that I would need some latest information from anyone here that has some input I can use. For instance: - How many linkpipes do we have right now? Akrapovic, Remus, Milltek, Supersprint and AA? - ODB tuning is locked from the June software onwards. Tuning is only possible after removal of the ECU and potentially opening it up. - Does Bootmod3 work on all software versions inside the M2C? Including the June software? - Are there any other tuning solutions that are working with the ODB locked software? Can we even tune cars with locked software versions installed by the dealer? - The new software version released in June seems to be a recall as well, and it fixes a few things, such as the problem with the DCT gearbox jumping into neutral when you are creaping away at a traffic light. - Which tuning solutions offer OPF delete or at least the option to disable the OPF sensors? A standard ECU file allows for disabling if you don't have the latest software in the car. What other solutions have this option? JB4? Bootmod3? Dinan? Any information is highly needed to get it all straightened up. I want to make one video standing under my and/or another car, explaining the differences and explaining how it all works, because it is now up to a point we can write a book about what is on the market and which solutions are there now and coming in the near future to allow OPF removal in an easy and safe way. Bootmod3 and ECUTek can both be used on the current locked software. But the ECU has to be removed. This is what PTF and Litchfield UK have told me. AFAIK there is not currently a way to flash tune locked cars.
PTF claims they are working on / closing in on a flash solution for the latest software, but more info as to their current progress on this effort is non-existent. |

Guys, can we say that only ECU removal is the option for tuning right now?
That means for all ECU / DME tuning forms as we know it? Any info we know please dump it here! Thanks MR |

i wasn't able to go to the shop because the tuner was closed due to a franciacorta event which i forgot. anyway i spoke with the tuner. The real problem according to him is this one. with the software he has it is impossible to read the ecu but it is possible to write. however the car uses a strategy called virtual read. it reads all the informations and it checks into a database looking for the same sotware. once the ecu is removed it is able to read thought the ecu and there is no need for the database and the virtual read strategy.

I don't know that anyone "opens" any ECU's these days as the chip tune stuff is not required. I assume (but could be wrong) that most ECU's these days are flash memory or solid state. Getting it out of the car... won't be fun. |

it's under the intake manifold. supposedly it isn't too hard. there are some very very shitty videos out there that offer a non-zero level of help.
I'm just waiting for PTF. I spoke with them again today and they reassured me that a flash unlock is on the way. |

I have met up with Obermeier Motorsport today and I think we have a solution that works! ECU is behind the intake manifold and removing that is not really hard. It is a few screws and then you can access the ECU. You don't have to remove it, but can access it easily.
The tune can be done with ease, they said. This is a great solution and something which is done on a daily basis by them already. I going along that way, but this helps me as well making one big story for people explaining what can be done and what not. OBD is closed for now, but the ECU direct tuning is here to make it all work. Not the easiest in the world, but also not the hardest. It is a relatively easy way of making it all possible. MR |

My experienced M2C produced June with OBD blocked.
Mounted AA eliminating FAP. Auto goes into limp mode when you give it all at low engine speeds. I managed to try dyno, reached 433 hp against 415 with OPF. To map, I turned to a famous Italian tuner. They connected to the control unit without removing it. Disassembled sensor on intercooler to facilitate disassembly of wiring from the control unit. With many difficulties they managed to connect to the control unit without disassembling it. However, they had connectors to connect directly to the terminal block on the control unit. |

Jb4 is a working solution both for more hp and deactivate the exhaust sensors.
Running Remus on my M2C and JB4 with no problem. Will use that setup until a OBD unlock comes to market |

JB4 has a system in it that allows to kill warning messages immediately after they happen. That is a way it could deal with it.
I am not aware it has the ability in it to fully disable it, but I would not be amazed if it did. It is a relatively easy fix if you know what you are doing. MR |

Also i'm pretty sure Auto-CEL is now removed and you have to clear the codes manually using the JB4 bluetooth app. |

I'm using Remus exhaust and the OPF filters are gone. Have been driving around 5000kms now with stage 2 and passive delete activated. No codes( have checked with Carly app) no fault codes and I have got it clarified from Burger tuning that they removed the auto delete function a few years ago for a number of reasons. |
