Remus axleback with Active Autowerke midpipe questions.

I decided to install an Active Autowerke midpipe to go along with my Remus Race axleback that I have been running for a few weeks.

I am not sure if I received the wrong midpipe, I installed the midpipe today and I now have a leak coming from the connection between the axleback and midpipe. I was not able to use the clamps provided by Active Autowerke and instead used the Remus clamps. It almost seems like the pipe is too short and not getting a good seal between the axleback and midpipe.

For those of you running the AA + Remus set up did you use the Remus clamps and also do you have photos you can post of how they look together installed?

Does Active Autowerke makes 2 different versions of this Downpipe? One for OEM and one for Aftermarket axlebacks?

I used remus clamps instead of AA clamps when mating the two together. And when I ordered from Mike @X-PH, there were two versions of the midpipe, one for OEM and one for aftermarket.. I got the aftermarket one and everything seemed to fit alright and after the initial install, I had a few exhaust leaks in different spots, however when I retightened all the clamps and bolts, that fixed all the leaks.

The Active Autowerke clamps are too small and would not go over the Remus pipes. I ordered an extra set of ACCUSEAL clamps to try to make it leak free, my car has been on the quick jack since last week. I think with using the reducing sleeves to make up the gap with the new clamps it should work, it’s almost like the midpipe is too short.

I was about to buy the AA midpipe for stock, but if this locks me into that option I might need to rethink. I appreciate this post.

The clamps that Active Autowerke provide would allow you to install with the factory axleback with no issues, I tested it out on my car while waiting for the hardware I ordered to come in.

Using the Remus clamps is the right way to do it. I had the same issue so I just took it to a shop and had them weld it there instead.

I don't think it would be an issue if you used a rack and had the space to hold everything in place when tightening down the clamps. Doing it on the floor is a bit too much of a struggle though.

Fixed and leak free, I had to purchase a Vibrant AccuSeal style 63.5m clamp. I pulled the sleeve out a bit and used both clamps along with some Permatex copper silicone high heat sealant.

@speedsnice We appreciate the support and glad you were able to work that out. The AA mid pipe mated to the REMUS axle back is one of the better sounding set ups on this car and sounds pretty killer on the M3/M4 as well.

@hlm2c Thank you for your support and feedback as well.
