Can anyone help me establish the paint code for these Frozen Gold Matt wheels as I need to refurbish mine. BMW are unable/unwilling to help and I am waiting for a reply from SAI (Super Alloy International) the Taiwanese company who I believe make the wheels for them but I am not hopeful.

By the way, ignore the E92 below. That has long gone!

These rims look so good on a Black car. I have a SSO M2C. Not sure how these would look on my car. The orange M3 on the first page looks alright, but I think Black rims look better on Orange.

It's a shame you don't live in the UK. I have just bought a set of 19" replicas in silver for £450! From ***. They also do matt black for slightly more. You can buy the gel decals on ebay to finish off the appearance.

The Reps are 19x8.5 & 19x9.5. OEM is 19x9 & 19x10. Different offsets as well (they do have 20" fronts though). I assume they are made with a different process and are heavier as well but that is just speculation from part?

Pics/experience with frozen gold 763m on HS?

I imagine this could be a good combo in sunlight given the HS yellow/gold tint. In overcast/cloudy conditions the concrete gray might make frozen gold look strange. I've managed to find some older pics of this combo from a dealer in Freehold NJ and San Francisco. Looking for more. I don't even have the car yet but I'm finding myself ready to grab the M Perf coilovers, camber plates, and some 763m wheels with sport cup 2s for track use.

Thanks!

This is what I've found. The sunlight ones look pretty decent IMO. Also looking for owners who have this setup and what their level of satisfaction is.

Anyone old enough to remember "gold packages" that dealers used to sell on new cars might agree with me that it brings back bad memories whenever something is tinted gold on a new car. For that reason alone, I don't like the gold wheels.

I only remember the "gold" emblems on the Acura's and Honda, I don't believe that was ever a BMW thing..

It's interesting because frozen gold very soft....not as bold as straight up gold/brass...more like the "champagne" finishes you see available on plumbing fixtures and door hardware lately (none of which is my personal choice though).

Maybe I'm trying too hard to avoid boring old black. I'm not a black wheel fan although it is great at hiding the brake dust.

Silver and gold, silver and gold.... sorry just reminds me of that christmas gingle.

It's a bit flashy but not terrible looking.

Ive seen it in person... and it looks nice. The gold is not terribly "in your face".

It was in the 80s. The JPS e30 and e21 were special models. There may have also been a 6 but I can’t remember if that was only the race car.

The guy that I did a level 3 driving course with way back when actually owned one the ex BMW 6 Series JPS race cars. Very nice.

Not a fan of anything other than black with gold wheels*. Even then, it’s probably a bit too 80s. But 80s is big at the moment.

* unless it’s a blue Subaru special edition.

Nice! That was a little before my time but I know old school rap music from the 80s always mention 'gold BBS on the Bimmer' so I guess that was going trend, at that time, as it was standard equipment on the 6 series.

The gold 763M is a nice, modern throwback to those and also is light AF, at a mere 20.50lbs, forged aluminum construction..

It's a 'M Performance' concept but in BBS light-weight territory.

Those were the days the 3 piece BBS wheels were it!

I had 3 piece Compomotive wheels on my black e30 with a black centre and polished rims. 15” too. Huge.

I'm even older than old I guess since my first memory of gold centered wheels was at IMSA races in ~1976 when 3-piece BBS wheels were used by many teams and numerous Porsche teams used the BBS E50 magnesium center wheels painted gold with brightly polished outer piece aluminum rims. Shortly thereafter BBS started producing gold centered one-piece wheels with a silver lip and it took off from there. The BBS one-piece wheels were very expensive, and I think one of the first knock-offs was from a company called Epsilon which ended up later making very close copies of the BBS wheels once "+1" and "+2" up-sizing caught on (circa 1980 or so).
